Racing Incident Report

As the gates opened, METRO FLYER put its head down and was slow to begin. JOIN VICTORY bounded in the air at the start and lost ground, consequently got well back. Near the 1300 Metres, CENAMIRA was steadied when crowded for room between CHINOOK and NICKU NICKU which momentarily shifted in. Throughout the race, NICKU NICKU raced wide and without cover and gave ground from about the 600 Metres. Making the turn at the 600 Metres, BEST EVER shifted in and bumped the running rail. After the 600 Metres, AURELIAN was steadied and shifted to the outside of NICKU NICKU which commenced to give ground. At the 400 Metres, MILLION CHASE was shifted to the outside of NICKU NICKU and shortly afterwards JOIN VICTORY was steadied and shifted to the outside of NICKU NICKU. Near the 200 Metres, BEST EVER was steadied and shifted to the outside of NATURAL MODEL which was giving ground. Near the 100 Metres, COTTON BALL was momentarily steadied away from the heels of CHINOOK. CENAMIRA and NICKU NICKU were sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of CENAMIRA and NICKU NICKU after the race did not show any significant findings. The performances of CENAMIRA and NICKU NICKU were considered unacceptable. Before being permitted to race again, CENAMIRA and NICKU NICKU will both have to perform competitively in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. PRO JOY, JOIN VICTORY and AURELIAN were sent for sampling.
