Racing Incident Report
LIFELINE RAPIDE, DENDRANTHEMA LOVE and EL PRADO STAR were slow to begin. SAND DANCE bounded in the air at the start and lost ground. ZERO IN began awkwardly. From the outside gate, SUPER PRINCE was steadied and shifted across behind runners to a position with cover. Making the turn at the 800 Metres, FAST TRACK was steadied away from the heels of SAND DANCE which at this time got its head on the side and shifted in. Also making the turn at the 800 Metres, EL PRADO STAR hung out. Near the 700 Metres, FAST TRACK, which was proving difficult to settle, got its head on the side, shifted out and was checked away from the heels of SAND DANCE. ADD THE FUN, which was racing outside FAST TRACK, was carried wider. Shortly after straightening, AMPLE GAINS was disappointed for running between FORTUNE BOY and SAND DANCE which shifted in. For some distance after this, AMPLE GAINS continued to be held up and unable to obtain clear running behind FORTUNE BOY. For some distance after the 400 Metres, SUPER PRINCE was unable to obtain clear running behind SAND DANCE and inside LIFELINE RAPIDE. After the 200 Metres, HIP HIP HOORAY was bumped by AMPLE GAINS which was crowded for room when endeavouring to improve on the inside of FORTUNE BOY which when giving ground was bumped by SAND DANCE which got its head on the side and shifted in away from LIFELINE RAPIDE. No action was taken. For the majority of the Home Straight, CAPITALAND was held up and unable to obtain clear running and because of this was not tested. SAND DANCE was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of SAND DANCE after the race did not show any significant findings. AMPLE GAINS, FAIR WIN and ZERO IN were sent for sampling.
