Racing Incident Report
DANRIVA was withdrawn on 3.5.05 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left fore) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter NEW MILESTONE (A Delpech). Before being allowed to race again, DANRIVA will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. NEW MILESTONE, which was fractious in the barriers, was slow to begin and consequently raced well back in the field in the early and middle stages. ONE STEP AHEAD and LUCKY STALLION began awkwardly. SEASONS KNACK was slow to begin. Near the 1200 Metres, LUCKY STALLION, which was being steadied in an endeavour to obtain a position with cover, was bumped and hampered when MAGIC TEMPLE was taken out by KING OF WIN. In this incident, MAGIC TEMPLE also became unbalanced. Near the 1100 Metres, MAGIC TEMPLE raced fiercely when being shifted in behind KING OF WIN with cover. Approaching the 600 Metres, ONE STEP AHEAD was checked away from the heels of MAGIC TEMPLE. Shortly after entering the Straight, MAGIC TEMPLE was held up for clear running behind GREAT LEADER and inside NEW MILESTONE. Passing the 100 Metres, SEASONS KNACK was shifted to the outside of FORTUNE BOY to continue improving. W M Lai (FORTUNE BOY) was advised against the practice of easing his mounts down over the concluding stages. KING OF WIN was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of KING OF WIN after the race did not show any significant findings. GREAT LEADER, MAGIC TOUCH and SMART HORSE were sent for sampling.
Additional Veterinary Reports (released on 5 May 2005)
NEW MILESTONE was examined by the Senior Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer J Size this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in the right front leg. Before being allowed to race again, NEW MILESTONE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
