Racing Incident Report
DONGGUAN VICTORY began awkwardly and shortly afterwards was steadied away from the heels of LUCKY YEARS which shifted out after being bumped by TREASURE FIELD. VICTORY TREASURE was a little slow to begin. From a wide barrier, FAVOURITE RETURN travelled wide and without cover throughout. For some distance after the 1600 Metres, MOMENTUM, which was proving difficult to settle, got its head up when being steadied away from the heels of HIGH PRICE. Approaching the 700 Metres, DOUBLE PLEASURE got its head up when being steadied away from the heels of VICTORY TREASURE. At the 700 Metres, HIGH PRICE became unbalanced after bumping with TREASURE FIELD when endeavouring to shift to the outside of ENAMELLED. For some distance after this, HIGH PRICE and TREASURE FIELD raced tight. Prior to straightening, MOMENTUM was steadied to avoid the heels of ENAMELLED which was giving ground. In the early part of the Straight, SUNDAY DELIGHT, which had been ridden quietly from a wide barrier today, was shifted wider to find clear running. After the 300 Metres, when endeavouring to improve into a narrow run on the inside of WINNING RONGRONG, DOUBLE PLEASURE and WINNING RONGRONG became badly unbalanced as a result of DOUBLE PLEASURE making contact with the hindquarters of WINNING RONGRONG. At the 300 Metres, S Sanders (SEASONS KNACK) dropped his whip. After this, SEASONS KNACK hung in and proved difficult to ride. ENAMELLED was sent for an official veterinary inspection. After the race, ENAMELLED, which tailed out, was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said the horse was displaying an irregular heart beat. Before being allowed to race again, ENAMELLED will have to perform competitively in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. VICTORY TREASURE and SEASONS KNACK were sent for sampling.
