Racing Incident Report

CHERISHED was slow to begin. ISLAND SPIRIT began awkwardly. Despite being ridden along in the early stages, ALL OUR WAY failed to muster speed. After passing the winning post on the first occasion, ALL OUR WAY was crowded for room inside CHERISHED which at this time steadied when awkwardly placed inside WINWIN COMBO which was racing tight inside WAIT FOR ME. No action was taken. FANTASTIC WIN from the outside gate was ridden forward in the early stages, then when making the first turn while travelling wide and without cover was ridden to go forward and cross to race outside the leader. When FANTASTIC WIN shifted across near the 1100 Metres, JUBILOSO was momentarily steadied away from the heels of that horse. In the middle stages, WAIT FOR ME over-raced when travelling three wide without cover. In the Straight, WAIT FOR ME hung in away from ROCKET WIN and near the 200 Metres was checked to avoid the heels of ISLAND SPIRIT. O Doleuze (CENTURY SUPER STAR) said on straightening SHINING DRAGON had shifted away from the rail as he had anticipated, he therefore attempted to improve towards the inside of that horse, but as he did this SHINING DRAGON shifted back towards the rail. He said because he had improved his position, it was not possible for him without steadying to shift to the outside of SHINING DRAGON, therefore for the major part of the Straight he continued to race in restricted room inside SHINING DRAGON which despite the efforts of its rider continued to shift in. He said CENTURY SUPER STAR was not comfortable racing in restricted room. When questioned, S Dye (ALL OUR WAY) was unable to offer any explanation for the poor performance of the horse. He said at no stage of the race did ALL OUR WAY travel. He said he felt the horse's previous run which was also disappointing there were some excuses, however, ALL OUR WAY tonight again performed poorly without reason. WAIT FOR ME was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of WAIT FOR ME after the race did not show any significant findings. CENTURY SUPER STAR, JUBILOSO and CHERISHED were sent for sampling.
