Racing Incident Report

1 9 CIRCUIT CHAMPION (J428) Jumped only fairly and shortly after the start lost ground when badly crowded between PRESTIGE WIN which shifted in despite the efforts of its rider and GOLDEN CHAMP which was taken out by YOUNG EMPEROR. After the race an endoscopic examination was conducted on CIRCUIT CHAMPION at the request of Trainer C S Shum. The Veterinary Surgeon said this examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea. Before being allowed to race again, CIRCUIT CHAMPION will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Sent for sampling post-race.
2 2 KA YING ATTACK (J391) Sent for sampling post-race.
3 3 YOUNG EMPEROR (K011) Lay in in the Home Straight.
4 1 SOUTH STAR (K153) Lay out when obliged to race wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
5 10 REFUSETOBEENGLISH (K362) Near the 100 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running when being shifted to the inside of KA YING ATTACK.
6 6 LIFELINE EXPRESS (H439) D B McMonagle stated that the horse enjoyed a comfortable run during the event but finished the race off only fairly when under pressure in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
7 4 CITY GOLD BANNER (L155) Kicked a rail leaving the Parade Ring, was examined by the Veterinary Officer and passed suitable to race. Z Purton stated that after improving into the event on the Home Turn his mount finished the race off only fairly in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
8 7 COMPLETE UNKNOWN (L219) No report.
9 5 GOLDEN CHAMP (L135) Shortly after the start became unbalanced when crowded between CIRCUIT CHAMPION and YOUNG EMPEROR which shifted out.
10 8 PRESTIGE WIN (L248) Shortly after the start shifted in despite the efforts of its rider, made contact with CIRCUIT CHAMPION and as a result became unbalanced. When commencing to give ground near the 100 Metres was eased when racing in restricted room between LIFELINE EXPRESS and REFUSETOBEENGLISH which shifted in.
