Racing Incident Report

1 11 VIOLET STAR (L149) Jumped only fairly. K Teetan was fined the sum of $2,000 in relation to using his whip in a manner where the hand holding the whip was above shoulder height on one occasion near the 80 Metres. Sent for sampling post-race.
2 4 POWER OF VITAM (L171) Sent for sampling post-race.
3 5 DO YOUR PART (J444) Shortly after the start was bumped by RIDING TOGETHER. A short distance later DO YOUR PART became unbalanced when bumped on the hindquarters by RIDING TOGETHER.
4 2 RIDING TOGETHER (K081) Near the 700 Metres L Ferraris adjusted his left stirrup iron. After passing the 200 Metres lay in under pressure, obliging its rider to stop riding and straighten his mount on two occasions. L Ferraris stated after jumping awkwardly and then being crowded shortly after the start by WIN METHOD which shifted out he was unable to hold a more forward position as instructed.
5 9 CASA ROCHESTER (J494) Jumped awkwardly. From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. For a short distance near the 300 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running when being shifted to the outside of HOTT SHOTT.
6 1 SKY VINO (K054) No report.
7 8 CALIFORNIA MOXIE (J131) Passing the 1200 Metres was momentarily crowded by VIOLET STAR which shifted in.
8 12 WIN METHOD (K406) Shifted out shortly after the start and made contact with RIDING TOGETHER. L Hewitson could offer no excuse for the horse’s disappointing performance. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
9 3 LOVERO (H451) After the 500 Metres was steadied and shifted to the outside of MAGNEMITE as MAGNEMITE commenced to give ground. LOVERO then raced tight between MAGNEMITE and VIOLET STAR for some distance thereafter. Z Purton could offer no excuse for the horse’s failure to run on in the Home Straight. Trainer B Crawford stated that whilst the horse settled slightly further back than intended he could offer no explanation for its failure to finish the race off. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
10 6 ANOTHER WORLD (K005) Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
11 7 HOTT SHOTT (L147) K C Leung reported that he was asked to hold an on-pace position but HOTT SHOTT failed to run out tonight’s 1650 Metres. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
12 10 MAGNEMITE (K549) The performance of MAGNEMITE, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, MAGNEMITE will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be a "roarer” which had previously been reported.
