1 4 HAPPY INDEX (L152) Sent for sampling post-race.
2 3 RISING FORCE (K236) Sent for sampling post-race.
3 2 HEAVING (K576) Jumped only fairly. In the middle stages raced keenly. Approaching the 700 Metres got its head up when being steadied away from HAPPY INDEX. Between the 300 Metres and the 250 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running when being shifted to the outside of JUBILANT WINNER and HAPPY INDEX.
4 14 JUBILANT WINNER (J346) Near the 800 Metres was steadied to avoid RISING FORCE (R Kingscote) which shifted in when not clear. R Kingscote was advised to exercise more care.
5 9 MOUNT EVEREST (K237) Jumped only fairly.
6 12 RYUI KOKOROE (L120) Lay in under pressure in the Home Straight. Over the concluding stages was unable to be fully tested when improving into a narrow run between RISING FORCE and JUBILANT WINNER.
7 1 MICKLEY (K082) Jumped awkwardly and then shortly after made contact with ORIGIN OF FORM when that runner shifted in.
8 8 A TIME FOR US (K475) Near the 300 Metres was eased to avoid HEAVING when it shifted in towards HEAVING as HEAVING was improving to the outside of JUBILANT WINNER. M Guyon reported that with blinkers being applied for the first time he was able to hold a more forward position from a favourable barrier.
9 13 WOLF COMING (K353) Shifted in on jumping and was bumped.
10 5 CHEAHA (K567) No report.
11 10 WINNING BUDDIES (L092) K C Leung was fined the sum of $2,000 for initially presenting himself to be weighed out with the incorrect saddle cloth number. Jumped only fairly and shortly after the start was steadied when crowded by WOLF COMING which shifted in and away from RISING FORCE.
12 7 ORIGIN OF FORM (K517) Bumped shortly after the start. After travelling a short distance was steadied when crowded between MICKLEY which lay out and RYUI KOKOROE which shifted in slightly.
13 11 GOLDEN EMPIRE (E490) Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
14 6 GIANT SPIRIT (L169) Lay out making the turns in the middle stages.
