1 13 BLING BLING GENIUS (J397) L Hewitson stated that the instructions were to hold an on-pace position but not lead. He said when BLING BLING GENIUS commenced well he elected to continue forward from a wide barrier and lead the event to avoid covering additional ground. Sent for sampling post-race.
2 8 LUCKY YEAR (K443) Jumped only fairly and then was badly crowded by CIRCUIT MARSHAL which shifted out abruptly at the start. Sent for sampling post-race.
3 11 AMAZING DUCK (H392) Bumped at the start.
4 4 TURIN CHAMPIONS (L024) No report.
5 9 VICTOR SUPREME (K547) Jumped only fairly, shifted in and made contact with AMAZING DUCK. Sent for sampling post-race.
6 2 KA YING SUPERB (J091) Raced keenly in the early stages. Near the 1000 Metres, when racing keenly, was steadied to avoid BLING BLING GENIUS (L Hewitson) which shifted in when not quite clear. L Hewitson was advised to exercise more care.
7 12 RED BRICK WARRIOR (K580) No report.
8 6 BEAUTY VIVA (K155) Jumped only fairly.
9 5 AUDACIOUS PURSUIT (K398) Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
10 3 SUPERB KID (H298) No report.
11 14 FIGHTING MACHINE (J015) Became unbalanced on jumping when it made contact with LUCKY YEAR.
12 10 ILLUMINOUS (J170) A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
13 7 CIRCUIT MARSHAL (K526) Shifted out abruptly on jumping and made heavy contact with LUCKY YEAR. J Orman stated that his mount did not appreciate the "Good to Yielding” track conditions. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
14 1 GALLANT EPOCH (J451) C Y Ho stated that his mount came under pressure after entering the Home Straight and weakened noticeably but he could offer no explanation for the horse’s disappointing run. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of GALLANT EPOCH was considered disappointing as compared to its previous race starts. Before being allowed to race again, GALLANT EPOCH will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
