6 LEGEND WINNER (L032) No report.
2 POPE CODY (K313) Approaching the 300 Metres was bumped on the hindquarters by SERAPH GABRIEL and became unbalanced, resulting in its rider J Orman having to stop riding and straighten his mount. In the Home Straight lay in and near the 150 Metres was corrected by its rider J Orman. J Orman stated that his instructions were to endeavour to hold a midfield position. He said when caught wide early he elected to come back to race towards the rear of the field to avoid covering additional ground.
1 EVERYONE'S STAR (K172) Raced keenly in the early and middle stages. Held up making the Home Turn and near the 450 Metres was steadied to avoid LOVERO. Sent for sampling post-race.
12 VERMILION TEMPEST (L093) Jumped only fairly.
7 PANACEA (K256) Jumped only fairly. Between the 300 Metres and the 200 Metres was held up for clear running. Leaving the 200 Metres was steadied when crowded between MORGAN SUCCESS and BUCEPHALAS (M Chadwick) which shifted in. M Chadwick was reprimanded. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
13 BUCEPHALAS (K096) Noted to have lost its right hind plate after the race. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
11 HARMONY GALAXY (J266) Between the 350 Metres and the 150 Metres was badly held up for clear running.
4 MORGAN SUCCESS (K203) Near the 300 Metres raced tight between LEGEND WINNER and NOVA KNIGHT which shifted out when giving ground. L Hewitson stated that with blinkers being applied for the first time today he was asked to take up a forward position, particularly as connections felt there was not much pace in the race.
3 SERAPH GABRIEL (L108) When the pace steadied after the 800 Metres raced keenly. Near the 450 Metres EVERYONE’S STAR (Z Purton) was steadied and shifted to the outside of LOVERO to avoid that runner. As a consequence WUKONG JEWELLERY and WINNING GOLD were taken wider, resulting in SERAPH GABRIEL being steadied when crowded between WINNING GOLD and POPE CODY. Z Purton was advised to exercise more care. Near the 300 Metres, when positioned tight between POPE CODY and WINNING GOLD, was again steadied when crowded by WINNING GOLD (D Probert) which shifted out. D Probert was reprimanded and advised he must stop riding and straighten his mounts when they shift ground whilst not clear. A Atzeni stated that after being crowded near the 450 Metres and again near the 300 Metres his mount lost ground and became unbalanced. He said as a consequence SERAPH GABRIEL took some time to rebalance before finishing the race off reasonably well over the final 200 Metres. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
10 WUKONG JEWELLERY (K314) Near the 450 Metres was taken wider and bumped with WINNING GOLD. Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event. M Guyon reported that his mount was obliged to race wide and without cover for the majority of the event and hung out before failing to run on in the Home Straight.
5 WINNING GOLD (H461) Jumped awkwardly and became unbalanced. Was left racing very wide and without cover from the 800 Metres. Bumped near the 450 Metres.
14 NOVA KNIGHT (K518) Y L Chung stated that with sheepskin cheek pieces being applied for the first time today his mount raced keenly when caught wide in the early stages. He said as a consequence he allowed the horse to stride forward and lead near the 1100 Metres to avoid covering additional ground and as a result NOVA KNIGHT settled more forward than intended.
