Approaching the 1000 Metres briefly raced tight to the inside of SONIC BOOM before SONIC BOOM was corrected by its rider. Leaving the 900 Metres was steadied to avoid SONIC BOOM (H Bentley) which shifted in. H Bentley was reprimanded. K Teetan stated that after his mount was crowded in the early stages it did not finish the race off in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea. Before being allowed to race again, ALWAYS MY FOLKS will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

8 3 JOYFUL TREASURE (J496) 2 K De Melo Passing the 1100 Metres became unbalanced when racing tight between BEAUTY FORMULA which shifted out slightly and ALWAYS MY FOLKS which lay in and made contact with JOYFUL TREASURE despite the efforts of its rider. Near the 900 Metres, when racing keenly, was steadied when racing tight to the inside of ALWAYS MY FOLKS when that runner was crowded by SONIC BOOM (H Bentley) which shifted in. H Bentley was reprimanded. Shifted out passing the 500 Metres and was bumped. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be lame in its left hind leg. Before being allowed to race again, JOYFUL TREASURE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
2 4 GLORY CLOUD (H320) 7 A Badel A Badel pleaded guilty to a careless riding charge for causing interference leaving the 800 Metres (see LEGEND STAR). Sent for sampling post-race.
1 5 LEGEND STAR (K271) 9 J McDonald A Badel (GLORY CLOUD) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that leaving the 800 Metres he allowed his mount to shift in when not clear of LEGEND STAR, resulting in LEGEND STAR having to be checked. A Badel was suspended from riding in races for a period to commence on Wednesday, 17 December 2025 and to expire on Sunday, 21 December 2025 on which day he may resume race riding (2 Hong Kong racedays). In assessing penalty, the Stewards determined the carelessness grade 2 and the consequences grade 2 and also considered his good race riding record. Sent for sampling post-race.

Near the 500 Metres commenced to race keenly and got its head up when being steadied away from BRILLIANT FIRE. Near the 50 Metres made contact with BRILLIANT FIRE due to both runners shifting ground.

1 5 YIU CHEUNG VICTORY (J529) 2 B Avdulla Trainer C H Yip stated that he attributed tonight’s improved performance to the horse jumping better from barrier 2 and being able to take advantage of holding a more forward position as a consequence. Sent for sampling post-race.
4 6 WINDICATOR FAMILY (H419) 5 M F Poon Bumped at the start. In the middle stages raced keenly and for some distance near the 900 Metres got its head up when being steadied away from WISEMAN. Near the 150 Metres was steadied and shifted to the outside of THUNDER BLINK to obtain clear running.
11 7 PANDA LEGEND (H002) 6 R Kingscote Shifted out abruptly at the start despite the efforts of its rider and made contact with DRACO. R Kingscote stated that his mount did not travel comfortably around the Happy Valley track and, in his opinion, is better suited racing at Sha Tin. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
8 8 DRACO (J115) 7 Z Purton On jumping was checked when crowded by PANDA LEGEND which shifted out abruptly despite the efforts of its rider. Z Purton could offer no excuse for the horse’s failure to run on in the Home Straight. Trainer B Crawford advised that he had been pleased with the horse’s work and that DRACO may not have quickened as anticipated due to the application of a hood. He added that Jockey Purton had recommended the horse be stepped up in distance for its next race start. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. 12 10 BINGO BABE (K115) 9 J Orman On jumping was bumped by ALL EYES ON ME. Over the concluding stages could not be ridden out when held up behind VERBIER. J Orman reported that when his mount commenced well it was able to hold a more forward position than had been anticipated. 8 2 FUN ELITE (J042) 11 E C W Wong (-5) Apprentice E C W Wong stated that from a wide barrier he was obliged to make use of his mount in the early stages to lead which resulted in it not being able to finish the race off in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea. Before being allowed to race again, FUN ELITE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
12 3 FRANCIS MEYNELL (J394) 8 K Teetan Shifted in at the start and made contact with TACTICAL COMMAND. A Badel (TACTICAL COMMAND) was found guilty of a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that leaving the 900 Metres he allowed his mount to shift in when not clear of FRANCIS MEYNELL, resulting in FRANCIS MEYNELL having to be checked to avoid TACTICAL COMMAND. A Badel was suspended from riding in races for a period to commence on Tuesday, 23 December 2025 and to expire on Sunday, 28 December 2025 on which day he may resume race riding (2 Hong Kong racedays). In assessing penalty, the Stewards determined the carelessness grade 2 and the consequences grade 2 and also considered his good race riding record. K Teetan reported that after his mount was bumped at the start he did not push it along in the early stages as the horse has a known respiratory condition. He said as a result FRANCIS MEYNELL settled back in the field.

3 5 NEVER SETTLE (K417) 6 C Y Ho Leaving the 1100 Metres was eased to avoid FUN ELITE when that runner shifted in. Sent for sampling post-race.
7 6 BITS SUPERSTAR (J362) 5 Z Purton Jumped only fairly. In the early stages raced keenly and near the 1000 Metres was steadied away from GOLDEN LUCK when racing tight to the inside of NEVER SETTLE. Near the 250 Metres was steadied to avoid SOMELOVEFROMABOVE which was taken in slightly by FUN ELITE (Apprentice E C W Wong). Apprentice Wong was advised to exercise more care. BITS SUPERSTAR was then shifted to the outside of SOMELOVEFROMABOVE to obtain clear running and near the 100 Metres was steadied to avoid FUN ELITE as that runner commenced to give ground. As a result BITS SUPERSTAR was shifted back to the inside of FUN ELITE where it obtained clear running after the 100 Metres. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

He added in the Home Straight ALABAMA SONG responded reasonably well to his riding.
1 4 EVERSTAR (K264) 4 J Orman After travelling a short distance made contact with NEW POWER when racing tight to the inside of CHARMING STEED. In the middle stages raced keenly. Near the 150 Metres was hampered when bumped by ROMAN CROWN which shifted out slightly. Sent for sampling post-race.
8 5 NEW POWER (H325) 3 E C W Wong (-5) Bumped on the hindquarters at the start and became unbalanced. Bumped after travelling a short distance. Approaching the 500 Metres was steadied when momentarily crowded by ROMAN CROWN (H Doyle) which shifted in. H Doyle was reprimanded. Apprentice E C W Wong stated that his mount was crowded approaching the 500 Metres and then did not run on in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
6 6 SWEET BRIAR (H044) 1 L Hewitson Near the 600 Metres lay in and made contact with the running rail. Approaching the 300 Metres made contact with CHARMING STEED. Over the concluding stages could not be fully ridden out when racing tight between FATAL BLOW and CHARMING STEED, both of which shifted ground slightly.
3 7 CHARMING STEED (E494) 5 D Probert Bumped approaching the 300 Metres. Over the concluding stages shifted in and away from DENFIELD, resulting in its rider D Probert having to correct his mount approaching the winning post.

Whilst the Stewards were satisfied that the riding of H Doyle, 7th placegetter, over the concluding stages did not affect the horse’s finishing position, she was nonetheless reminded of her obligation to ensure that she fully rides her mounts out to the finish of the race.

8 5 AMAZING GAZE (K444) 4 Z Purton When questioned Z Purton stated that his mount settled slightly further back in the field than expected when AMAZING AWARD, which he was following, did not continue forward in the early stages. He added when placed under pressure in the Home Straight AMAZING GAZE finished the race off only fairly although it bumped with FORTUNATE SON on a number of occasions when ACE WAR shifted out after the 100 Metres. Trainer D A Hayes advised the horse had pleased him leading into the race and, in his opinion, as AMAZING GAZE is still relatively inexperienced it may not have appreciated racing tight between ACE WAR and FORTUNATE SON in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Sent for sampling post-race.

Near the 250 Metres was disappointed for clear running between CHARMING BABE and LUCKY PLANET. As a result SYMBOL OF STRENGTH was unable to obtain clear running for the remainder of the event. Noted to have blood in the mouth after the race.

4 4 AKASHVANI (K234) 1 Z Purton Leaving the 1100 Metres was bumped by SYMBOL OF STRENGTH and as a consequence became unbalanced. Between the 300 Metres and the 200 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running to the outside of CANDLELIGHT DINNER and in this incident made contact with LUCKY PLANET on a number of occasions. Noted to have lost its right front plate after the race. Sent for sampling post-race.
1 5 KING MILES (J158) 9 C Y Ho Jumped only fairly. After travelling a short distance shifted in and away from NORTHERN FIRE BALL and was steadied to avoid CANDLELIGHT DINNER. Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event. Sent for sampling post-race.

When commencing to finish the race off well became held up for clear running behind AKASHVANI leaving the 50 Metres and as a result could not be ridden out to the finish of the event.
12 11 NORTHERN FIRE BALL (J488) 10 Y L Chung (-2) Raced keenly in the middle stages. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
6 12 LUCKY PLANET (H235) 12 M F Poon Lay in after travelling a short distance, resulting in its rider M F Poon having to stop riding and straighten his mount. Between the 300 Metres and the 200 Metres was bumped by AKASHVANI on a number of occasions as it endeavoured to prevent AKASHVANI from shifting out. Over the concluding stages raced tight between AKASHVANI and CHARMING BABE.
