Racing Incident Report

KA YING SPIRIT jumped awkwardly and then was bumped by RUN RUN COOL. Shortly after the start, RUN RUN COOL then raced tight to the outside of ATOMIC ENERGY which shifted out.
VALIANT ELEGANCE jumped awkwardly, then shifted in and made contact with DIVINE SHINING.
HIGH RISE SOLDIER and METRO WARRIOR bumped at the start.
Near the 300 Metres, METRO WARRIOR shifted in to obtain clear running and in doing so briefly crowded DIVINE SHINING.
Near the 100 Metres, SUPER AXIOM, which was commencing to give ground, was steadied to avoid HIGH RISE SOLDIER which shifted to the inside of CHEVAL VALIANT to obtain clear running.
After the race, K Teetan (SUPER AXIOM) reported that his mount travelled well in the lead and when asked for an effort over the final 300 Metres gave ground and raced in a disappointing manner. A veterinary inspection of SUPER AXIOM immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Also after the race, an endoscopic examination was conducted on KA YING SPIRIT at the request of Trainer C S Shum. The Veterinary Surgeon said this examination showed a substantial amount of mucus in the horse’s trachea.
A veterinary inspection of DIVINE SHINING, which was eased down in the Home Straight, immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of DIVINE SHINING was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, DIVINE SHINING will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
DREAM WINNER and CHEVAL VALIANT were sent for sampling.
