Racing Incident Report
The explanations submitted by E Saint-Martin (HANDSOME FORTUNE) regarding his being late to the Parade Ring were accepted. On leaving the gates, SHERDIL was bumped by HANDSOME FORTUNE which shifted out. After this, SHERDIL shifted some ground and made contact with SAI KUNG STAR which also bumped with AMERICAN WIN. PRINCESS BEAUTY left the gates awkwardly with its head up, shifted ground and bumped WILFUL FLIGHT. Then just after the start, PRINCESS BEAUTY was steadied when crowded for room between GLORY ST PAUL'S and GLASGOW KISS (C Williams) which shifted in slightly. C Williams was told he must exercise more care. On jumping, Apprentice M W Leung (SAI KUNG STAR) lost the use of his right side stirrup iron. He was able to regain it about 150 Metres after the start. In the early and middle stages, TWIN WIZARDS raced ungenerously, hung out badly and proved difficult to ride. About the 800 Metres, WILFUL FLIGHT, when being ridden hard in an endeavour to maintain its position, was crowded between GLORY ST PAUL'S which shifted out and GLASGOW KISS which momentarily shifted in. After the 400 Metres, CLASSIC CHOICE was steadied and shifted in to try and find running, then near the 200 Metres was steadied and shifted out abruptly to avoid HONOUR GRADE, find running and go forward. When CLASSIC CHOICE shifted out, some inconvenience was caused to A RUN OF LUCK. SAI KUNG STAR, LUCKY MASTER and CLASSIC CHOICE were sent for sampling. After the race, it was noted SHERDIL had lost its left side front plate.
