Racing Incident Report
After arriving at the barriers, it was noted BUDDIES POWER was bleeding from the mouth. The Veterinary Surgeon said the horse had loosened a bottom inside tooth and in his opinion was not suitable to race. On this advice, BUDDIES POWER was withdrawn by order of the Stewards. GREAT STAR jumped awkwardly, shifted in and bumped BEAR SUPREMO. As a consequence of this, BEAR SUPREMO became unbalanced, then about the 1000 Metres was again inconvenienced and was shifted in when hampered by SEA CORAL which was shifting across in an endeavour to find a position closer to the rail. FLYING FAST left the gates awkwardly with its head up, then shifted out abruptly across the heels of SOLAR EMPIRE. In the early stages, COOL SWING commenced to hang out, then rounding the turn near the 800 Metres hung out badly, in the Straight continued to hang out and was difficult to ride out. Rounding the turn and in the Straight, GETMORE DANCER hung in. About the 300 Metres, PLANET RULER was steadied and shifted out to avoid SOLAR EMPIRE, in dong so bumped BEAMING RIVER. Just after this, PLANET RULER was being shifted to a run between JOYOUS CHEERS and GETMORE DANCER. After the 200 Metres, PLANET RULER was checked when disappointed for this run as a consequence of GETMORE DANCER shifting in. PLANET RULER was then shifted to the outside of GETMORE DANCER in an endeavour to go forward and was further inconvenienced by that horse as it shifted out in the run to the line. About the 200 Metres, GREAT STAR, which was giving ground, was steadied when crowded between SEA CORAL and GORGEOUS YEARS which shifted out away from BEAR SUPREMO which also shifted out slightly to go forward. On pulling up, it was noted GREAT STAR had its tongue over the bit. PLANET RULER, LUCKY KING and CHARMING STRIDE were sent for sampling.
