B Avdulla was reprimanded. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. <31/10/2024 Additional Veterinary Reports>After the race, HAILTOTHEVICTORS was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said at that time there were no significant findings. HAILTOTHEVICTORS was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer D Eustace this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in its right front leg. Before being allowed to race again, HAILTOTHEVICTORS will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

WV-A 5 ENSHINE (J196) H Bowman After being fractious in the Parade Ring made contact with a rail after exiting the Parade Ring. ENSHINE was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said the horse had sustained a wound to its left hind leg. Acting on veterinary advice that ENSHINE was not suitable to race, the horse was withdrawn by order of the Stewards. Before being allowed to race again, ENSHINE will be required to perform satisfactorily in a parade test and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

After the event, H Bowman stated that after attempting a tight run to the inside of MERCHANT PRINCE on the Home Turn, his mount was checked when unable to obtain clear running which resulted in KASA PAPA losing momentum at that stage of the event. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
10 2 SUPER WISE DRAGON (G475) Z Purton After arriving on course was found to have superficial graze above left eye, was examined by the Veterinary Officer and passed suitable to race. Bumped shortly after the start. After the event, Z Purton stated that the intention was to endeavour to find cover if possible. He said in the early stages SUPER WISE DRAGON raced keenly and as the horse is a "roarer”, he was reluctant to excessively restrain his mount to obtain a position with cover. He said as a result SUPER WISE DRAGON, which continued to race keenly, raced outside the lead before giving ground in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be a "roarer” which had previously been reported. The performance of SUPER WISE DRAGON was considered disappointing as compared to its last race start. Before being allowed to race again, SUPER WISE DRAGON will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Before being allowed to race again, YEABOI will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

6 5 CIRCUIT DUFFY (J501) Z Purton Shortly after the start was crowded between EXUBERANT which shifted out slightly and CALIFORNIA DEEPLY which shifted in before being corrected by its rider B Avdulla. When questioned, Z Purton stated that the intention was to hold a forward position if his mount was able to commence well. He said after being crowded at the start his mount was then unable to hold a forward position. He said as a consequence he allowed CIRCUIT DUFFY to take up a trailing position behind WORLD HERO in the early stages. He added in the Home Straight, under pressure, his mount raced greenly, however, was disappointed for clear running near the 200 Metres between WORLD HERO and TOP SCORER which shifted in. He said as a consequence he then was obliged to ease his mount to shift to the outside of TOP SCORER and after continuing to shift out, he was able to obtain clear running to the outside of FATAL BLOW where CIRCUIT DUFFY finished the race off reasonably well. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Sent for sampling post-race.

Approaching the 300 Metres was steadied when racing tight to the inside of OMAKASE which shifted in slightly.
3 6 ACE TALENT (H046) E C W Wong (-7) When questioned, Apprentice E C W Wong stated that over the final 150 Metres when he commenced to ride ACE TALENT along, his mount lay out and as a result shifted out a number of horses. Apprentice Wong agreed with the Stewards that in the circumstances he should have stopped riding and straightened his mount sooner than what he did. He added that when he recommenced riding ACE TALENT out towards the finish of the event, he dropped his left rein. Apprentice Wong was advised he should ensure that he has proper control of his rein, particularly in circumstances when he commences to use the whip.

7 8 E GLORY (H304) M Chadwick Jumped only fairly, shifted out and made contact with the hindquarters of DAN ATTACK, resulting in DAN ATTACK shifting in and E GLORY having to be checked when crowded between CIRCUIT TEN and DAN ATTACK. When commencing to finish the race off well was steadied and shifted to the outside of DIAMOND SOARS near the 50 Metres to continue into clear running.

He added when TRIUMPHANT MORE improved to his outside, he elected to allow that runner to cross rather than contesting that position as he felt this would be detrimental to the chances of GLORY CLOUD settling in the middle stages of the event. After considering his explanations, the Stewards found the tactics adopted by Jockey Bowman in the circumstances were reasonable. Sent for sampling post-race.

After the event, H Bentley reported that after being badly crowded and becoming unbalanced shortly after the start, his mount did not travel comfortably thereafter. He said when he was concerned with his mount’s action in the Home Straight, he did not continue to ride it out when not in a competitive position. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of GLORY B, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, GLORY B will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

10 4 SAMARKAND (H070) K Teetan K Teetan was found guilty of a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that near the 350 Metres, when positioned too close to the heels of HELENE WARRIOR, he attempted to improve to that runner’s outside for some distance when there was not sufficient room to do so, resulting in his mount striking the heels of HELENE WARRIOR, blundering badly and becoming unbalanced, also resulting in HELENE WARRIOR becoming badly unbalanced when galloped on and causing I CAN, which was following SAMARKAND, to be checked to avoid the heels of that horse. K Teetan was suspended from riding in races for one Hong Kong raceday to be conducted on Wednesday, 13 November 2024 at Happy Valley. In addition, Jockey Teetan was fined $60,000. In assessing penalty, the Stewards determined the carelessness grade 2 and the consequences grade 3 and also considered his very good race riding record. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
