Racing Incident Report

When being saddled, NAOMERIC TE SPECSO hit its head in the saddling stalls. After arriving at the Start, the horse was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and after the necessary consultations was considered suitable to race. HAPPY DRAGON was slow to begin. NAOMERIC TE SPECSO began awkwardly. At the 500 Metres, PERFECT SPORT was momentarily awkwardly placed outside the hindquarters of SPEED AT EASE which shifted out. When placed under pressure near the 300 Metres, COOL SWING shifted in. After the 200 Metres, COOL SWING and NAOMERIC TE SPECSO bumped. Over the concluding stages, OCTA LUCKY STAR hung in. Throughout the race, MEDIPAL hung in, proved difficult to ride and at the 400 Metres shifted ground and caused some inconvenience to AMOUR. Y T Cheng (GOOD TIME FOR ALL) explained he had ridden the horse on numerous occasions, at each time he had been told to find cover and not make his run until the final 400 Metres. He said today GOOD TIME FOR ALL began well and he did not ride along in the early stages to allow horses to his outside to go forward off him. He said near the 800 Metres he shifted out to be behind HAPPY ECLIPSE to obtain cover however, the pace of the race in the early stages was very strong which meant he ended up racing back off HAPPY ECLIPSE. He said at the 400 Metres he commenced to shift GOOD TIME FOR ALL to the inside of HAPPY ECLIPSE to obtain clear running, however, that horse itself commenced to shift in at the same time and consequently he did not obtain a clear run until about the 200 Metres when GOOD TIME FOR ALL then finished the race off strongly. The explanations submitted by Y T Cheng were accepted. SPEED AT EASE was sent for a clinical veterinary examination. After the race, E Saint-Martin reported SPEED AT EASE was making an abnormal breathing noise. The horse was examined by the Veterinary Officer. An endoscopic examination was conducted and no significant findings were made. OCTA LUCKY STAR and MASCOT were sent for sampling.
