LUCKY EIGHT (G204) | 1 | B Avdulla | After the 900 Metres went amiss and was retired out of the event. When questioned B Avdulla explained that when his mount was negotiating the turn near the 900 Metres it changed legs and put in an awkward stride. He said from that point the horse did not feel right in its action and therefore he was left with no option but to retire the horse out of the race. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be lame in its right hind leg. Before being allowed to race again, LUCKY EIGHT will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination which must include additional diagnostic assessments. After the running of Race 2, the track classification was officially changed from "Good” to "Good to Firm”. This change in the opinion of the Stewards should be recorded as being retrospective. As a consequence of this, the official results will show Races 1 and 2 being run on a track rated "Good to Firm”.

The following jockey was found to be in breach of Rule 100(3)(ii)(a) for using the whip on consecutive occasions:-
