Racing Incident Report

After being loaded into the barriers, JADE FORTUNE reared abruptly, resulting in its rider, N Callan, being dislodged. N Callan was cleared to fulfil his race riding engagement on JADE FORTUNE. Before being allowed to race again, JADE FORTUNE will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. N Callan was subsequently stood down from his remaining race riding engagements by the Chief Medical Officer due to a hip injury which he sustained when dislodged from JADE FORTUNE.
HIDDEN SPIRIT and COPARTNER SPIRIT bumped at the start.
From wide barriers, WINNING TOGETHER and RIGHTEOUS MATE were shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Passing the 400 Metres, LUCKY WIN WIN and SKYEY SUPREME raced tight.
K Teetan (PARTY EVERYDAY) was spoken to regarding raising his whip arm above the height of his shoulder passing the 400 Metres.
BREEZE OF SPRING lay out rounding the Home Turn, resulting in LUCKY WIN WIN being directed in away from BREEZE OF SPRING in the early part of the Straight. BREEZE OF SPRING continued to lay out and as the horse was giving ground, it shifted out abruptly away from LUCKY WIN WIN after the 200 Metres, resulting in BREEZE OF SPRING being steadied away from the heels of SKYEY SUPREME.
When questioned, Z Purton (MOMENTUM HAPPY) stated that he was instructed to obtain a forward position on the horse which was attempting 1650 Metres for the first time today. He said after riding his mount along in the early stages he was able to shift MOMENTUM HAPPY across to race outside the leader MEGATRON and passing the 1400 Metres MOMENTUM HAPPY immediately commenced to prove very difficult to settle. He said he attempted for a considerable distance to have MOMENTUM HAPPY relax, however, the horse would not respond to his endeavours and continued to prove very difficult to settle. He said MOMENTUM HAPPY also lay out in the middle stages which made it more difficult for him to be able to get the horse to settle. He said because of the manner in which MOMENTUM HAPPY travelled, the horse was then not able to finish off the race. A review of the video established that when proving difficult to settle, the bit pulled through MOMENTUM HAPPY’s mouth to the right. Z Purton added that after the race he immediately recommended to connections that they consider dropping the horse back in distance at its future race starts. A veterinary inspection of MOMENTUM HAPPY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
A veterinary inspection of WINNING TOGETHER immediately following the race found that horse to be lame in its right front leg. Before being allowed to race again, WINNING TOGETHER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
A veterinary inspection of CHUNG WAH SPIRIT immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
PARTY EVERYDAY and SKYEY SUPREME were sent for sampling.
<29/6/2020 Additional Veterinary Report>WINNING TOGETHER, which performed poorly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said at that time the horse was lame in its right front leg. WINNING TOGETHER was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer C W Chang yesterday morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to have a stiff and restricted action. As previously advised, WINNING TOGETHER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination before being allowed to race again.
CHUNG WAH SPIRIT which performed poorly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said at that time there were no significant findings. CHUNG WAH SPIRIT was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer C H Yip yesterday morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in its left front leg. Before being allowed to race again, CHUNG WAH SPIRIT will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
