When questioned rider stated that the intention was to hold a midfield position with cover. He said in the early stages when caught wide and to the outside of a runner he elected to come back to obtain a position with cover behind that runner which resulted in his mount settling further back in the field than he had expected. He said when being shifted behind that runner leaving the 800M he was of the opinion that the pace of the race increased and that resulted in his mount losing touch with the field thereafter. He added from the 600M he encouraged his mount forward, however, it took some time to respond to his riding and was inclined to lay out making the Home Turn before finishing the race off well in the Home Straight - Race 179.
