Rider reported that when under pressure in the Home Straight he was concerned with his mount’s action and as a consequence he eased it down when not in a competitive position. Post-race vet inspection did not show any significant findings. Has since passed an official vet exam - Race 326.

12 J359  LOVING VIBES  04/02/2026   406  LOVING VIBES (J359) approaching the 300M lost its running and had to be checked. When questioned rider stated that in the early stages he was able to hold a position behind the 10th placegetter. He said near the 800M when the 3rd placegetter improved to his outside he raced in restricted room for a short distance to the inside of that runner and when he was aware another runner was positioned to his inside he was obliged to remain racing one-off. He said as he had expected the 10th placegetter to continue forward and lead he did not contest the position behind that runner and as a consequence the 3rd placegetter was able to cross to obtain a trailing position behind the 10th placegetter. He said when that runner then remained racing one-off the rail that resulted in his mount racing keenly and shifting out and being obliged to race further back as a consequence. After considering his explanation the Stewards advised rider that in the circumstances he had made an error of judgement by not attempting to hold his position to the inside of the 3rd placegetter to avoid losing ground in the middle stages. Post-race vet inspection did not show any significant findings - Race 406.
13 G394  HEROIC MASTER  23/12/2025   287  HEROIC MASTER (G394) from a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. In the early stages raced keenly and for some distance near the 1000M was steadied away from a runner. Near the 200M was bumped - Race 287.
14 K090  CONSPIRATOR  22/02/2026   455  CONSPIRATOR (K090) jumped only fairly. Rider could offer no explanation for his horse’s failure to run on in the Home Straight. Post-race vet inspection did not show any significant findings - Race 455.
Standby Horse
1 J520  SPICY STANDARD  19/10/2025   109  SPICY STANDARD (J520) was withdrawn on the day before raceday by order of the Stewards acting on vet advice (heart irregularity). Has since performed to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and passed an official vet exam - Race 109.
