He said after being crowded SUNNY Q settled further back in the field than what he had intended and he was satisfied with the horse’s finishing effort in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea. Before being allowed to race again, SUNNY Q will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Sent for sampling post-race.

He said today GOOD FORTUNE was advantaged by holding a more forward position and had pleased him in its most recent barrier trial on 31 August 2026 leading into today’s race. She said as RAPID PHANTOM cleared COMET RADIANCE near the 100 Metres she was able to ride her mount along which resulted in RAPID PHANTOM shifting out towards the outside running rail. She said near the 20 Metres when RAPID PHANTOM changed stride she was concerned that it was going to make contact with the running rail which required her to stop riding and again straighten her mount and as a consequence she was unable to ride RAPID PHANTOM out to the finish of the event. After considering the evidence the Stewards accepted her explanation for not riding her mount out to the finish.

K Teetan reported that near the 800 Metres when he commenced to ride his mount along to maintain its position he became concerned with the horse’s action and as a consequence he eased it out of the event. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of ONESHOT, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, ONESHOT will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination which must include additional diagnostic assessments.

He said when placed under pressure in the Home Straight MASTER PAYMENT failed to respond and, in his opinion, would derive a fitness benefit from today’s performance. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of MASTER PAYMENT, a last start winner, was considered disappointing. Before being allowed to race again, MASTER PAYMENT will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
