6 4 MEEPMEEP (H234) 8 H Bowman Leaving the 300 Metres was checked when crowded by HAPPYDEARHAPPYDEER (Y L Chung) which hung in before being corrected by its rider. Whilst the Stewards accepted that Jockey Chung had made an effort to straighten HAPPYDEARHAPPYDEER, he was reprimanded and advised he should have straightened his mount sooner than he did on this occasion. Noted to have lost its right front plate after the race.
10 5 FORTUNE KINGO (K457) 11 C Y Ho C Y Ho was reprimanded for failing to present himself in the Parade Ring by the required time. Leaving the 800 Metres was bumped heavily by GENERAL SMART and taken wider (see GENERAL SMART). C Y Ho reported that his mount was not comfortable on the "Wet Slow” track conditions on the All Weather surface. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
7 6 CELESTIAL HARMONY (K059) 10 L Hewitson Held up for clear running on the Home Turn. L Hewitson stated that when his mount jumped only fairly he elected to ride the horse in a conservative manner to ensure that it was able to obtain cover.
11 7 SPECIAL HEDGE (H354) 3 C L Chau (-2) Bumped shortly after the start. Held up for clear running on the Home Turn. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be a "roarer” which had previously been reported.
2 DH 8 GOLDEN FORTUNE (K500) 2 J Orman Bumped shortly after the start. Sent for sampling post-race.
12 9 VIVA TASTE (K415) 9 H T Mo (-2) Jumped only fairly. H T Mo reported that his mount was not comfortable on the "Wet Slow” track conditions on the All Weather surface. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be a "roarer” which had previously been reported.
8 10 GENERAL SMART (K138) 7 A Atzeni A Atzeni was fined the sum of $2,000 for failing to present himself in the Parade Ring by the required time. After improving to the inside of SPECIAL HEDGE leaving the 1500 Metres was steadied to avoid SPECIAL HEDGE which was taken in by HAILTOTHEVICTORS. GENERAL SMART then raced keenly for some distance thereafter. Leaving the 800 Metres was shifted to the outside of HAPPYDEARHAPPYDEER to endeavour to improve between HAPPYDEARHAPPYDEER and FORTUNE KINGO when there was not sufficient room to do so. As a result GENERAL SMART made heavy contact with FORTUNE KINGO when the rider of FORTUNE KINGO, C Y Ho, rode in a competitive manner in an endeavour to maintain his position behind HAILTOTHEVICTORS. As a result FORTUNE KINGO was hampered when taken wider by GENERAL SMART. A Atzeni was reprimanded and advised in similar circumstances he should refrain from improving into positions where there is not sufficient room to do so. C Y Ho was questioned in relation to his right arm extending towards GENERAL SMART in this incident. Jockey Ho stated that as the incident occurred when the field commenced to turn after the 800 Metres he was endeavouring to maintain his position on the track by placing pressure on his right rein and also at the same time he became unbalanced when his mount was bumped heavily by GENERAL SMART. After considering his explanation and also the evidence of Jockey Atzeni who did not identify any contact with his mount during the incident by Jockey Ho’s right arm, Jockey Ho was advised whilst the Stewards accepted his explanation he should endeavour, wherever possible, to have his arms remain within the confines of his body.
9 11 SUPER HONG KONG (D241) 4 K C Leung Jumped only fairly. K C Leung reported that his mount was not comfortable on the "Wet Slow” track conditions on the All Weather surface. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
5 12 HAPPYDEARHAPPYDEER (J002) 12 Y L Chung (-2) Shifted in leaving the 300 Metres and was corrected by its rider.

Race:2 (755) HKU BUSINESS SCHOOL AND FACULTY OF ENGINEERING HANDICAP (Sec1) Class 5 1400 m

2 1 WINNING MACHINE (K239) 5 J Moreira Bumped at the start. After obtaining clear running to the outside of TOP TO SKY near the 200 Metres then lay out under pressure over the final 100 Metres. When questioned J Moreira stated that his instructions were to hold an on-pace position but not necessarily lead the event. He said whilst WINNING MACHINE jumped well he elected to allow MAZING GRACE to improve to his inside to obtain a position with cover. Trainer C Fownes confirmed the instructions issued and stated that his preference was for WINNING MACHINE to be ridden with cover. J Moreira pleaded guilty to a careless riding charge for causing interference near the 50 Metres (see RATTAN GALAXY). Sent for sampling post-race.
9 2 HAPPY ACTION (K399) 3 H Bentley For some distance approaching the 1200 Metres was steadied when being crossed by WINNING MACHINE.
11 3 FIGHT TIME (H409) 8 P N Wong (-7) Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
6 4 RATTAN GALAXY (K143) 10 H Bowman J Moreira (WINNING MACHINE) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that near the 50 Metres he allowed his mount to shift out when not clear of RATTAN GALAXY, resulting in RATTAN GALAXY having to be checked to avoid WINNING MACHINE. J Moreira was suspended from riding in races for one Hong Kong raceday to be conducted on Wednesday, 1 July 2026 at Sha Tin. In assessing penalty, the Stewards determined the carelessness grade 2 and the consequences grade 2 and also considered his very good race riding record.
12 5 CARRYON SMILING (J392) 9 Z Purton A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
14 6 MAZING GRACE (K166) 1 K C Leung Jumped only fairly. K C Leung reported that the intention was to hold a position with cover. He said when WINNING MACHINE did not cross his mount in the early stages he was obliged to lead the event without having to apply pressure to MAZING GRACE to do so. He added that MAZING GRACE then raced keenly in the lead before giving ground in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
4 7 SUPERB GUY (K323) 11 C L Chau (-2) Jumped only fairly. From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Between the 400 Metres and the 250 Metres was held up for clear running.
3 8 DOUBLE BINGO (J309) 4 A Atzeni Shifted out at the start and made contact with WINNING MACHINE. Between the 300 Metres and the 200 Metres was held up for clear running. A Atzeni pleaded guilty to a careless riding charge for causing interference after the 50 Metres (see WINDICATOR FAMILY).
8 9 NOBLE FANS (K038) 6 M L Yeung Near the 300 Metres M L Yeung dropped his right rein for a number of strides.
1 10 TOP TO SKY (K339) 7 E Brown Sent for sampling post-race.
7 11 WINDICATOR FAMILY (H419) 2 C Y Ho A Atzeni (DOUBLE BINGO) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that after the 50 Metres he allowed his mount to shift out when not clear of WINDICATOR FAMILY, resulting in WINDICATOR FAMILY losing its rightful running and being checked. A Atzeni was suspended from riding in races for one Hong Kong raceday to be conducted on Wednesday, 24 June 2026 at Happy Valley. In addition, Jockey Atzeni was fined $60,000. In assessing penalty, the Stewards determined the carelessness grade 1 and the consequences 2 and also considered his neutral race riding record. Noted to have sustained a small abrasion to the right knee after the race.
13 12 MULTIDUTCH (K171) 13 Y L Chung (-2) Bumped near the 350 Metres. Y L Chung reported that his instructions were to obtain cover and from a wide barrier he had to settle further back than intended.
5 13 SPEEDY TRIDENT (K230) 14 K Teetan From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
10 14 SUPREME WINNER (J255) 12 A Badel Between the 500 Metres and the 400 Metres was badly held up for clear running behind NOBLE FANS. After being shifted to the inside of NOBLE FANS leaving the 400 Metres then shifted in and made contact with MULTIDUTCH. For some distance after the 250 Metres had further difficulty obtaining clear running when being shifted to the inside of HAPPY ACTION.

9 3 VIGOR FLY (L417) 7 B Avdulla Shifted in at the start and was bumped. B Avdulla reported that near the 550 Metres his mount became unbalanced when racing behind YEUX DE LIFELINE.
3 4 BETTER AND BETTER (K277) 6 A Badel Shortly after the start was bumped by VIGOR FLY which shifted in. Sent for sampling post-race.
10 5 E HOPEFUL (L181) 12 E Brown Lay in under pressure in the Home Straight when giving ground. E Brown stated that he was instructed to go forward from his wide barrier. He said after his mount shifted in abruptly at the start and made contact with TRENDY RUSH he then rode E HOPEFUL forward to comply with his instructions. He added that when unable to cross runners to his inside his mount was obliged to race wide and without cover for the majority of the event before giving ground in the Home Straight. He said, in his opinion, E HOPEFUL is better suited by being ridden in a more conservative manner in the early stages. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
7 6 GREEN ANGEL (L255) 8 A Atzeni Jumped awkwardly, shifted out and became badly unbalanced when it made heavy contact with ZOUPER FELLOW. Leaving the 600 Metres became unbalanced when being steadied away from VIGOR FLY.
12 7 ZOUPER FELLOW (K284) 9 P N Wong (-7) Shifted out at the start and made contact with POWER PATCH. Shortly after ZOUPER FELLOW became badly unbalanced when crowded between POWER PATCH and GREEN ANGEL which shifted out. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
2 8 NEXT FORTUNE (L199) 2 C L Chau (-2) Sent for sampling post-race.
8 9 TRENDY RUSH (L209) 11 J Orman On jumping was checked when crowded by E HOPEFUL which shifted in abruptly despite the efforts of its rider.
5 10 POWER PATCH (L100) 10 C Y Ho Crowded on jumping.
11 11 HYANNIS STAR (K331) 4 M F Poon Jumped awkwardly and made contact with the left side of its starting gate. Approaching the 800 Metres, when racing ungenerously, was checked to avoid SKY DEEP when that runner shifted in slightly when racing close to the heels of ZOUPER FELLOW (Apprentice P N Wong) which shifted in. Apprentice Wong was advised to exercise more care. In this incident J Moreira, rider of SKY DEEP, was then unable to relieve the tightening to HYANNIS STAR when racing to the inside of E HOPEFUL which contributed to the interference sustained by HYANNIS STAR. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea. Before being allowed to race again, HYANNIS STAR will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

E Brown stated that the instructions were to go forward. He said his mount was stirred up in the starting gates due to the delay of the start and as a result jumped only fairly. He said he then elected to ride the horse in a conservative manner in the early stages from the outside barrier. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
6 2 STRATHPEFFER (H095) 4 K Teetan Near the 1300 Metres shifted out and away from LUCKY GIBS and made contact with SOLID CAR. K Teetan stated that the intention was to hold a more forward position but his mount did not show sufficient pace in the early stages to do so.
5 3 SOLID CAR (K058) 7 J Orman Bumped on jumping. Bumped near the 1300 Metres.
10 4 PRESTIGE COME (L261) 8 R Kingscote Fractious in the barriers, was removed and examined by the Veterinary Officer who found the horse to have blood in the mouth but passed suitable to race. In the Home Straight raced greenly and lay in.
8 5 SPLENDOR (L320) 9 M Chadwick Near the 1200 Metres commenced to race ungenerously and shifted out when being steadied to obtain a position with cover behind PRESTIGE COME. Near the 600 Metres shifted out when being steadied away from PRESTIGE COME.
2 6 MASTER LUCKY (K582) 6 A Atzeni Bumped on jumping. Leaving the 800 Metres was shifted to the outside of HONORARY when positioned close to that runner, resulting in MAJESTIC LIFE being taken wider. Sent for sampling post-race.
3 7 POLAR PATCH (L211) 11 Z Purton Jumped only fairly, shifted out and made heavy contact with STORMY KNIGHT. When being shifted behind STRATHPEFFER near the 1200 Metres was steadied when STRATHPEFFER shifted in. Near the 700 Metres commenced to race keenly and was steadied away from STRATHPEFFER.
13 8 STAR SATYR (K231) 10 Y L Chung (-2) Near the 1200 Metres was steadied to avoid SPLENDOR which shifted out when racing ungenerously. Y L Chung stated that as a result STAR SATYR raced further back in the field than intended and was unable to run on in the Home Straight. Bumped near the 700 Metres. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

4 10 GOR GOR (K104) 1 L Hewitson Near the 800 Metres got its head up when being steadied to avoid MASTER LUCKY. L Hewitson stated that from the inside barrier he was asked to obtain a more forward position than the horse had done so at its previous starts.
9 11 MAJESTIC LIFE (L085) 2 K C Leung Jumped only fairly. Leaving the 800 Metres was taken wider by MASTER LUCKY and then was obliged to race wide and without cover thereafter.
7 12 STORMY KNIGHT (L062) 12 B Avdulla Bumped heavily at the start.
14 13 DAILY TROPHY (H283) 13 E C W Wong (-3) From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Throughout the middle stages raced keenly. Near the 700 Metres shifted out after being bumped by CHILL PARTNERS, resulting in DAILY TROPHY then making contact with STAR SATYR.

WV FUN TOGETHER (H041) C L Chau (-2) Withdrawn on 6.6.26 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right fore) and replaced by Standby Declared Starter MASTER LUCKY. Before being allowed to race again, FUN TOGETHER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

13 2 ALLCASH (K190) 2 H Bowman H Bowman stated that his mount anticipated the start and as a result jumped awkwardly, shifted out and made contact with CHARITY GAIN. He said in the early stages he rode his mount along to endeavour to hold a more forward position but ALLCASH did not respond to his efforts to do so and as a result settled back in the field. He said ALLCASH did not appreciate racing on the "Wet Slow” track conditions and in particular due to the kickback. He added that for some distance approaching the 400 Metres ALLCASH was held up for clear running behind ARIEL but in the Home Straight did not respond to his riding. Trainer C S Shum concurred with the views offered by Jockey Bowman. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of ALLCASH was considered disappointing as compared to its previous race start. Before being allowed to race again, ALLCASH will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Sent for sampling post-race.

Before being allowed to race again, YODA’S CHOICE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
12 10 ARIEL (G223) 14 H Y Yuen (-10) Apprentice H Y Yuen stated that her mount failed to travel at any stage of the event and raced in a disappointing manner. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
9 11 NIGHT PUROSANGUE (J510) 8 K Teetan K Teetan reported that his mount did not appreciate the "Wet Slow” track conditions of the All Weather surface. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea. Before being allowed to race again, NIGHT PUROSANGUE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
10 12 NORTHERN BEAST (H233) 13 B Avdulla Jumped only fairly and then was crowded by ARIEL (Apprentice H Y Yuen) which shifted in. Apprentice Yuen was reprimanded. Leaving the 50 Metres had some difficulty obtaining clear running when improving to the inside of NIGHT PUROSANGUE which was giving ground.
14 13 GLORIOUS ST PAUL'S (K524) 9 M F Poon Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to have bled from both nostrils. Before being allowed to race again, GLORIOUS ST PAUL’S will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

4 12 AMAZING DUCK (H392) 8 R Kingscote R Kingscote stated that the instructions were to go forward. He said his mount jumped only fairly and then was crowded between PING HAI COMET and VICTOR SUPREME which shifted out which resulted in AMAZING DUCK settling further back than instructed.
10 13 NINJA DERBY (H339) 10 K Teetan K Teetan stated that his mount raced too keenly when positioned outside the lead and as a result did not run on in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea. Before being allowed to race again, NINJA DERBY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

9 6 KOL (L319) 1 L Hewitson Leaving the 900 Metres was steadied to avoid VIRTUS GLORY (Apprentice H Y Yuen) which shifted in when racing to the inside of NAVAS G. Apprentice Yuen was advised to exercise more care. In considering the incident, the Stewards took into account that as VIRTUS GLORY was being shifted in it became positioned close to ENJOY GOLF when that runner gave ground whilst allowing LEADING DRAGON to cross to the lead. Leaving the 700 Metres commenced to race keenly and was shifted out when being steadied away from VIRTUS GLORY. Between the 400 Metres and the 300 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running and near the 300 Metres was steadied when crowded between CALL ME SUCCESS and VIRTUS GLORY which shifted out. Apprentice Yuen was advised to exercise more care.
10 7 CALL ME SUCCESS (K462) 8 C L Chau (-2) C L Chau pleaded guilty to a careless riding charge for causing interference near the 900 Metres (see LITTLE MONSTER). Between the 450 Metres and the 300 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running.

After the 200 Metres FLYING SNIPER (Z Purton) endeavoured to improve into doubtful running between NAVAS G and ENJOY GOLF as ENJOY GOLF shifted out slightly. Near the 150 Metres FLYING SNIPER then struck the heels of ENJOY GOLF and blundered when disappointed for clear running between NAVAS G and ENJOY GOLF. As the Stewards found that there was not sufficient room for FLYING SNIPER to improve into the run, Jockey Purton was advised in similar circumstances he should exercise care to ensure that there is sufficient racing room to improve.

The Stewards ruled that FAITHFUL WARRIOR will be required to attend barrier practice to the satisfaction of the Starter prior to performing satisfactorily in a barrier trial and being subjected to an official veterinary examination before being allowed to race again.
