A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
6 2 CONRAD THE GREAT (K217) 3 K Teetan Near the 1100 Metres was steadied to avoid LUCKY BLESSING when racing keenly.
1 3 FASHION LEGEND (J080) 2 J Moreira Near the 1100 Metres was steadied to avoid CONRAD THE GREAT when racing keenly. Sent for sampling post-race.
11 4 OUR LUCKY GLORY (G292) 4 A Badel Leaving the 1300 Metres commenced to race keenly and was steadied to avoid VIVA BOSS. OUR LUCKY GLORY then continued to race keenly in the middle stages and near the 1100 Metres got its head up when being steadied to avoid VIVA BOSS. A Badel could offer no explanation for the horse’s failure to run on in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
7 5 SETANTA (G095) 12 L Ferraris From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Approaching the 1400 Metres was hampered when taken wider by EMERGING STAR.
9 6 TO INFINITY (G277) 6 A Atzeni A Atzeni stated that with the middle stages being run outside of standard time he commenced a forward move which resulted in TO INFINITY racing wide and without cover from the 1000 Metres. He said as a result TO INFINITY finished the race off only fairly in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
12 7 VIVA BOSS (L139) 5 Z Purton Z Purton stated that the only excuse he could offer for his mount’s disappointing performance was that it was reluctant to race amongst other horses. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of VIVA BOSS, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, VIVA BOSS will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
8 8 CELESTIAL HARMONY (K059) 9 L Hewitson Became unbalanced when bumped on jumping. L Hewitson stated that the intention was to hold a midfield position. He said from his wide barrier he was obliged to settle slightly further back than intended to ensure that his mount obtained cover.

Leaving the 100 Metres GENIUS BABY (K Teetan) commenced to improve to the outside of LOVING VIBES as LOVING VIBES shifted out slightly. As a consequence LEAN MASTER was hampered and taken out onto JOLLY COMPANION which shifted out towards FIND MY LOVE which became unbalanced when being steadied away from JOLLY COMPANION. K Teetan was advised to exercise more care. H Bowman stated that his mount found it difficult to finish the race off in the Home Straight under its top weight of 135 lbs. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Raced greenly when under pressure in the Home Straight and near the 200 Metres shifted in, resulting in its rider Y L Chung having to stop riding and straighten his mount. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
7 6 I AM BACK (L061) 2 J Moreira Near the 1100 Metres was steadied to avoid GENIUS BABY (K Teetan) which shifted in when not sufficiently clear. K Teetan was advised to exercise more care.
10 7 FREE PONY (K229) 12 M L Yeung Kicked a rail in the Parade Ring, was examined by the Veterinary Officer on arrival at the Start and passed suitable to race. From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
5 8 LUCK IS BACK (J398) 6 E C W Wong (-3) Shortly after the start made contact with FIND MY LOVE due to both runners shifting ground. E C W Wong stated that the intention was to hold a forward position. He said after being hampered shortly after the start LUCK IS BACK failed to show sufficient pace in the early stages to hold a more forward position.

1 10 STARRY SHOW (L074) 4 R Kingscote When questioned regarding the improved performance Mr C H Wong representing Trainer D A Hayes, stated that, in his opinion, the horse was advantaged by the track conditions which, whilst still rated as "Good”, had some give due to rain which had fallen at the start of the meeting. 10 3 VOLCANIC SPARK (H388) 11 C Y Ho Jumped awkwardly and made contact with the left side of the starting gate and lost ground. C Y Ho was fined the sum of $2,000 for a breach of Rule 100(3)(ii)(a) in that he used the whip on two consecutive occasions near the 250 Metres.

1 10 KYRUS TREASURE (K300) 6 J Moreira Near the 800 Metres shifted out to make a forward move and raced wide and without cover thereafter. Sent for sampling post-race.
12 11 NORTHERN BEAST (H233) 10 M F Poon M F Poon reported that he was instructed to ride his mount in a conservative manner in the early stages from a wide barrier. He said when the pace of the event increased in the Back Straight he commenced to ride his mount along to maintain its position, however, NORTHERN BEAST did not respond to his riding in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
8 12 OCEAN IMPACT (J502) 9 K Teetan K Teetan reported that his mount obtained a favourable position behind the leader with cover where it travelled well. He said when placed under pressure in the Home Straight OCEAN IMPACT responded only fairly to his riding and was disappointing. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

10 2 IVY LEAGUE (H116) 2 R Kingscote On jumping was bumped by VERY GRATEFUL which shifted out. Held up making the Home Turn until near the 250 Metres. Hung in in the Home Straight.
9 3 LIGHT YEARS GLORY (K204) 5 H Bowman Over the concluding stages could not be fully ridden out when racing tight between GORGEOUS VICTORY and SKY DEEP which shifted out. H Bowman reported that with his mount stepping up distance it raced keenly throughout the early and middle stages. He said near the 900 Metres when LIGHT YEARS GLORY refused to settle he was obliged to allow it to stride forward where it obtained the lead near the 600 Metres. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea. Before being allowed to race again, LIGHT YEARS GLORY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
4 4 TAKE ACTION (J098) 7 B Avdulla After travelling a short distance was bumped by PRESTIGE SUPERIOR which shifted out.
11 5 VERY GRATEFUL (K396) 1 M Chadwick Jumped only fairly, shifted out and made contact with IVY LEAGUE. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

5 7 LUCKY TOGETHER (L079) 4 A Badel Near the 800 Metres commenced to race keenly when LIGHT YEARS GLORY improved to its outside. As a result LUCKY TOGETHER shifted out when being steadied away from PRESTIGE SUPERIOR.
8 8 GORGEOUS VICTORY (L087) 10 Z Purton Near the 50 Metres was steadied when crowded between GAZELEY and LIGHT YEARS GLORY which was taken out by SKY DEEP (J Moreira) which shifted out. J Moreira was reprimanded. Z Purton stated that he was issued with no specific instructions and when his mount commenced well he was able to stride forward to lead in the early stages. He added as GORGEOUS VICTORY was having its first race start at Happy Valley it raced ungenerously and did not appear to be comfortable on the circuit. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Sent for sampling post-race.
3 9 PRESTIGE RICKY (K009) 9 K Teetan From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Near the 600 Metres was hampered when taken wider by WHOWROTETHATSONG.

12 11 PRESTIGE SUPERIOR (K383) 6 H T Mo (-2) Jumped awkwardly. After travelling a short distance shifted out and made contact with TAKE ACTION. Near the 600 Metres came under pressure when racing between LUCKY TOGETHER and IVY LEAGUE. A short distance later IVY LEAGUE (R Kingscote) improved to the outside of SKY DEEP when SKY DEEP became unbalanced and shifted in. As a result IVY LEAGUE then shifted out, crowding PRESTIGE SUPERIOR between LUCKY TOGETHER and IVY LEAGUE, resulting in PRESTIGE SUPERIOR having to be steadied. R Kingscote was severely reprimanded and advised in similar circumstances he would be expected to make a greater effort to maintain his position behind SKY DEEP. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
7 12 WHOWROTETHATSONG (L048) 8 Y L Chung (-2) From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. After travelling a short distance raced tight between PRESTIGE RICKY and TAKE ACTION. Near the 600 Metres shifted out when being steadied to avoid PRESTIGE SUPERIOR and as a result made contact with PRESTIGE RICKY. Between the 300 Metres and the 100 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running. Over the concluding stages raced tight between GAZELEY and LUCKY TOGETHER.

9 2 BEAUTY THUNDER (J299) 10 A Badel On jumping shifted out despite the efforts of its rider and made contact with CLOUD NINE. A Badel stated that his mount, in his opinion, did not run out the 1200 Metres of tonight’s event. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
4 3 CLOUD NINE (L050) 11 L Ferraris When questioned L Ferraris stated that his instructions were to go forward. He said on jumping his mount became unbalanced when crowded between WINALOT and BEAUTY THUNDER, both of which shifted ground, which resulted in CLOUD NINE settling back in the field. He added that throughout the event he followed LUCKY BID with STAR SATYR positioned to his outside. He said making the Home Turn he expected STAR SATYR to commence to give ground and his intention was to improve to the outside of LUCKY BID when that occurred. He said when STAR SATYR maintained its position he then elected to attempt to improve between LUCKY BID and POET’S REIGN near the 300 Metres. He said as he commenced to improve into that run LUCKY BID shifted in and when he was not satisfied there was sufficient room to improve he then looked to shift to the inside of POET’S REIGN to obtain clear running. He said as he commenced to shift in SMILING CHAMPION improved to his inside and when he received a call from K Teetan, rider of SMILING CHAMPION, he was obliged to steady his mount to avoid crowding that runner. He said as a consequence CLOUD NINE was held up for clear running between the 300 Metres and the 150 Metres after which it finished the race off well.

12 3 REAL GENTLEMAN (K534) 4 H T Mo (-2) Sustained cuts whilst being transported to the course, was examined by the Veterinary Officer and passed suitable to race. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

10 7 DOUBLE ALPHA (L291) 2 H Bowman Shifted in on jumping and bumped COPARTNER FLEET. H Bowman stated that his mount raced too keenly in the lead and as a result ran inside of standard time throughout the early and middle stages. He said as a consequence DOUBLE ALPHA gave ground in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
11 8 LITTLE MONSTER (K391) 5 K C Leung Near the 1100 Metres shifted out and made contact with ARMOUR WAR EAGLE. K C Leung stated that after following REAL GENTLEMAN in the early stages, when REAL GENTLEMAN came under pressure from the 550 Metres he was obliged to shift to that runner’s outside to improve. He said as a result he was required to make use of the horse sooner than he would have liked, this left LITTLE MONSTER without a finishing effort in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Sent for sampling post-race.
3 9 PERFECT TRIUMPH (L275) 10 J Moreira Between the 250 Metres and the 150 Metres was held up for clear running.

10 2 PASS LINE (L384) 7 M F Poon From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. J Orman (CALL ME TOPSEED) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that near the 1300 Metres he allowed his mount to shift in when not clear of WINNING DRAGON, resulting in WINNING DRAGON being taken in onto PASS LINE which was checked when it was crowded for room. In accordance with previous practices, Jockey Orman was fined the sum of $45,000 in lieu of a one-day suspension. In assessing penalty, the Stewards determined the carelessness grade 2 and the consequences grade 2 and also considered his very good race riding record. Leaving the 300 Metres was eased when racing tight to the inside of TRUE BROTHERS which shifted in.
6 3 A AMERIC TE SPECSO (H037) 12 A Atzeni Slow to begin. Leaving the 600 Metres was steadied when crowded between WINNING DRAGON and SUPER UNICORN which shifted out when it made the turn awkwardly. Passing the 100 Metres was checked when crowded between WINNING BUDDIES which shifted to the outside of CALL ME TOPSEED and WINNING DRAGON (A Badel) which shifted in. A Badel was severely reprimanded.
2 4 CALL ME TOPSEED (K357) 10 J Orman J Orman pleaded guilty to a careless riding charge for causing interference near the 1300 Metres (see PASS LINE). Prior to declaring weighed-in J Orman viewed the patrol films to ascertain if there were grounds for a protest/objection against THRIVING BROTHERS due to CALL ME TOPSEED being eased to avoid THRIVING BROTHERS near the 300 Metres and then being shifted to the inside of THRIVING BROTHERS near the 150 Metres to continue into clear running. When Jockey Orman declined to lodge a protest/objection and the Stewards were satisfied that there were not sufficient grounds, having regard to the manner in which both horses finished the race off, weighed-in was declared on the numbers semaphored by the Judge. 12 5 I CAN (H381) 4 K C Leung Shortly after the start was crowded between WINNING BUDDIES and TRUE BROTHERS. K Teetan (THRIVING BROTHERS) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that near the 1300 Metres he allowed his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of WINNING BUDDIES, resulting in WINNING BUDDIES being taken in onto I CAN, resulting in I CAN having to be checked when crowded. In accordance with previous practices, Jockey Teetan was fined the sum of $60,000 in lieu of a one-day suspension. In assessing penalty, the Stewards determined the carelessness grade 2 and the consequences grade 2 and also considered his excellent race riding record. Approaching the 900 Metres lay out and was steadied away from THRIVING BROTHERS. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
11 6 TRUE BROTHERS (L381) 5 P N Wong (-7) Shortly after the start was bumped on the hindquarters. Lay in in the early stages of the Home Straight when giving ground. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea. Before being allowed to race again, TRUE BROTHERS will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

He said after obtaining the lead CLASS raced keenly which resulted in the early and middle stages being run inside of standard time. Trainer P F Yiu confirmed the instructions were to go forward but was surprised that the horse was able to lead the event.

For some distance near the 700 Metres raced keenly when being steadied to obtain a position with cover behind YOUNG EMPEROR. J Orman stated that his mount was not comfortable on the track which, whilst still rated as "Good”, had some give due to rain which had fallen at the start of the meeting.
