Near the 250 Metres IVY LEAGUE, which continued to be held up for clear running, then improved into a run between BEAUTY GEMINI and BULL ATTITUDE when there was not sufficient room to do so, resulting in BEAUTY GEMINI becoming unbalanced when contacted on the hindquarters by IVY LEAGUE. Whilst the Stewards accepted that the principal reason for the interference was due to BEAUTY GEMINI and BULL ATTITUDE giving ground B Avdulla was advised to exercise more care.

He said as a consequence BEAUTY GEMINI gave ground in the Home Straight when it ran inside of standard time throughout the early and middle stages of the event. Noted to have lost its right hind plate after the race. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

11 11 BULL ATTITUDE (K305) 7 L Hewitson L Hewitson stated that the instructions were to go forward as connections were of the opinion there was a lack of pace engaged in the race. He said when BEAUTY GEMINI showed superior speed he raced to that runner’s outside but BULL ATTITUDE was unable to respond to his riding in the Home Straight, particularly due to the early and middle stages of the event being run inside of standard time. He added, in his opinion, the horse would be better suited when being ridden with cover. Trainer M Newnham confirmed the instructions issued. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Approaching the 200 Metres was hampered when taken wider by CHEAHA which shifted out and away from CAPTAIN LINK. J Orman stated that the intention was to hold a more forward position. He said when BROWNNEEDSFURTHER jumped only fairly it settled further back in the field than what had been intended. Noted to have lost its left front plate after the race. 12 9 LEGEND STAR (K271) 1 L Hewitson Checked near the 150 Metres. L Hewitson stated that his mount failed to finish the race off in the Home Straight but could offer no excuse for the performance. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
6 10 CAPTAIN LINK (K515) 5 J Moreira Approaching the 1000 Metres, when racing keenly, shifted in when being steadied to avoid CHEAHA.
11 11 STORMY KNIGHT (L062) 7 B Avdulla On jumping made contact with FREE PONY due to both runners shifting ground. H Bowman (COPARTNER FLEET) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that near the 150 Metres he allowed his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of STORMY KNIGHT, resulting in STORMY KNIGHT being checked and taken in onto LEGEND STAR, also resulting in LEGEND STAR having to be checked. H Bowman was suspended from riding in races for one Hong Kong raceday to be conducted on Wednesday, 10 June 2026 at Happy Valley. In assessing penalty, the Stewards determined the carelessness grade 2 and the consequences grade 2 and also considered his excellent race riding record.
9 12 VIGOR ELLEEGANT (J375) 9 M Chadwick Shortly after the start was eased when crowded by COPARTNER FLEET which shifted in despite the efforts of its rider. Near the 600 Metres was bumped by GEORGIAN SIGMA which shifted out slightly. M Chadwick stated that his instructions were to go forward. He said after commencing only fairly he rode his mount along in accordance with his instructions but was obliged to race wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
WV KING CANNON (K543) R Kingscote Withdrawn on 19.5.26 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left fore) and replaced by Standby Declared Starter CAPTAIN LINK. Before being allowed to race again, KING CANNON will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Approaching the 700 Metres was steadied to avoid DECISION LINK when that runner shifted out slightly. Over the concluding stages lay in and made contact with COLOURFUL GAN, resulting in its rider C Y Ho having difficulty in riding his mount out to the finish of the race.
9 4 LUCKY TOGETHER (L079) 10 K C Leung Approaching the 1400 Metres ANOTHER ZONDA (M Chadwick) improved to the inside of OUR LUCKY GLORY, resulting in LUCKY TOGETHER then racing in restricted room to the inside of ANOTHER ZONDA. When OUR LUCKY GLORY then shifted in slightly ANOTHER ZONDA shifted in onto LUCKY TOGETHER, resulting in LUCKY TOGETHER having to be checked. M Chadwick was severely reprimanded and advised in similar circumstances he would be expected to ensure that there is sufficient room when improving to the inside of other runners. Near the 1100 Metres was steadied to avoid NORTHERN BEAST when racing keenly. Near the 700 Metres was steadied to avoid FLYING FORTUNE. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The racing manners of THUNDER PRINCE were considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, THUNDER PRINCE will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial around a bend and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. L Ferraris stated after jumping awkwardly and then being crowded shortly after the start by WIN METHOD which shifted out he was unable to hold a more forward position as instructed.
9 3 LOVERO (H451) 3 Z Purton After the 500 Metres was steadied and shifted to the outside of MAGNEMITE as MAGNEMITE commenced to give ground. LOVERO then raced tight between MAGNEMITE and VIOLET STAR for some distance thereafter. Z Purton could offer no excuse for the horse’s failure to run on in the Home Straight. Trainer B Crawford stated that whilst the horse settled slightly further back than intended he could offer no explanation for its failure to finish the race off. Trainer J Size stated that, in his opinion, the horse had reached the end of its preparation and it would now be spelled. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of SIGHT HERMOSO, a last start winner, was considered disappointing. Before being allowed to race again, SIGHT HERMOSO will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
