9 5 CONSPIRACY WITNESS (J541) 11 D B McMonagle D B McMonagle pleaded guilty to a careless riding charge for causing interference approaching the first turn (see ROSEWOOD FLEETFOOT). Near the 550 Metres became unbalanced when racing tight between ROSEWOOD FLEETFOOT and JOYFUL PROSPERITY which shifted in slightly when making a forward move. D B McMonagle stated that from a wide barrier and in a race where there appeared to be a lack of pace he was instructed to go forward. He added he could offer no explanation for the horse’s failure to finish the race off in the Home Straight.
10 6 SUPER HONG KONG (D241) 7 M Chadwick M Chadwick stated that it was not his intention to settle as far forward as he did, however, he observed a position behind CONSPIRACY WITNESS in the early stages which he considered to be an advantageous position. He added whilst his mount travelled well throughout the event, when placed under pressure in the Home Straight, SUPER HONG KONG raced "flat” and did not finish the race off. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
7 7 PERFECT PAIRING (J331) 3 A Atzeni Slow to begin.
5 8 ROSEWOOD FLEETFOOT (J524) 8 R Kingscote D B McMonagle (CONSPIRACY WITNESS) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that approaching the first turn he allowed his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of ROSEWOOD FLEETFOOT, resulting in that runner striking the heels of CONSPIRACY WITNESS, blundering badly and losing its running. D B McMonagle was suspended from riding in races for one Hong Kong raceday to be conducted on Sunday, 29 March 2026 at Sha Tin. In addition, Jockey McMonagle was fined $55,000. In assessing penalty, the Stewards determined the carelessness grade 2 and the consequences grade 3 and also considered his excellent race riding record.
6 9 ALL ARE MINE (H293) 10 K Teetan From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Raced keenly in the early stages. Lay out on the Home Turn. K Teetan stated that after settling back in the field he was satisfied with the horse’s finishing effort as it was disadvantaged by the early and middle stages of the event being run outside of standard time. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Sent for sampling post-race.
11 10 GOLDEN FAIRY (E448) 6 J Orman Bumped at the start. J Orman stated that after leading the event his mount gave ground in the Home Straight and he could offer no explanation for its failure to finish the race off. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

7 1 RAGGA BOMB (K162) 7 H Bowman Bumped on jumping. H Bowman stated that he was obliged to make some use of his mount in the early stages to go forward. He said in the Home Straight RAGGA BOMB finished the race off in a one-paced manner and over the concluding stages was eased when racing in restricted room between ABSOLUTE AWAKENED and YIU CHEUNG VICTORY which was taken out slightly by KOLACHI, which prevented him from riding his mount out to the end of the race. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
12 2 PRESTIGE SUPERIOR (K383) 4 H T Mo (-2) Bumped on jumping. K C Leung (ABSOLUTE AWAKENED) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that near the 500 Metres he allowed his mount to shift in when not clear of TAKE ACTION, resulting in TAKE ACTION being taken in onto PRESTIGE SUPERIOR which was checked when it lost its running. K C Leung was suspended from riding in races for a period to commence on Wednesday, 15 April 2026 and to expire on Monday, 20 April 2026 on which day he may resume race riding (2 Hong Kong racedays). In assessing penalty, the Stewards determined the carelessness grade 2 and the consequences grade 2 and also considered his good race riding record. H T Mo stated that from a favourable barrier and with his mount stepping up in distance he was asked to hold a more forward position than its previous race starts.

6 4 ABSOLUTE AWAKENED (K039) 12 K C Leung Was left racing wide and without cover from the 700 Metres. K C Leung pleaded guilty to a careless riding charge for causing interference near the 500 Metres (see PRESTIGE SUPERIOR).

Leaving the 500 Metres was steadied to avoid PRESTIGE SUPERIOR when that runner was checked. PRECISION HOPE was then held up between the 500 Metres and the 300 Metres as PRESTIGE SUPERIOR gave ground. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to have a respiratory condition which requires further assessment.

4 11 KOLACHI (J395) 1 H Bentley Made contact with a rail before leaving the Parade Ring, was examined by the Veterinary Officer at the Start and passed suitable to race. Jumped only fairly. Making the first turn near the 1300 Metres raced tight to the inside of TAKE ACTION when TAKE ACTION was taken in slightly by YIU CHEUNG VICTORY.

Leaving the 900 Metres was bumped by A TIME FOR US which shifted in. Over the concluding stages raced tight between BITS SUPERSTAR and LEADING AGILITY, both of which shifted ground slightly. L Ferraris stated that his mount raced "flat” tonight.

11 4 AMAZING VICTORY (G123) 9 C Y Ho Near the 500 Metres shifted out when being steadied to avoid WATCH THIS ONE. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
2 5 THE HEIR (H459) 4 J Orman Shifted out shortly after the start and was bumped. Approaching the 300 Metres blundered when being shifted to the outside of WATCH THIS ONE to obtain clear running. Sent for sampling post-race.

4 8 LEADING AGILITY (K553) 7 L Hewitson Jumped awkwardly and lost ground. Shortly after the start blundered when awkwardly placed on the heels of SUNNY Q when being shifted behind that runner. Held up making the Home Turn behind GOLDEN EMPIRE.
12 9 VIVA BOSS (L139) 6 K C Leung Bumped shortly after the start. K C Leung stated that his mount raced keenly throughout the early and middle stages and making the turn after the 600 Metres lay out. He added in the Home Straight the horse failed to respond to his riding and gave ground. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
8 10 SUNNY Q (J223) 5 H Bentley Jumped only fairly and shortly after the start was steadied when crowded between VIVA BOSS and THE HEIR which shifted out and away from BITS SUPERSTAR. H Bentley stated that his mount, which was having its first race start at Happy Valley, travelled only fairly in the early stages but he was satisfied with its finishing effort in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
10 11 WATCH THIS ONE (K268) 12 A Atzeni Near the 600 Metres was eased to avoid VIVA BOSS which lay out. Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
9 12 GIDDY UP (J020) 10 K Teetan Jumped awkwardly, shifted out and made contact with ORIGIN OF FORM. Between the 300 Metres and the 150 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running when being shifted to the outside of WATCH THIS ONE.

9 1 GLORIOUS JOURNEY (J137) 2 C Y Ho On jumping was bumped heavily on the hindquarters and became unbalanced. C Y Ho stated that with the early and middle stages of the event being run inside of standard time his mount did not travel well during the event. He added in the Home Straight and under its top weight of 135 lbs GLORIOUS JOURNEY finished the race off only fairly. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
11 2 ANOTHER ZONDA (K176) 11 J Orman Bumped after travelling a short distance. When questioned J Orman stated that he was asked to go forward but obtain cover if possible. He said in the early stages, after commencing well, he was obliged to allow his mount to continue forward to cross DASHING PAL and SUPER SICARIO which resulted in ANOTHER ZONDA being positioned outside the leader FRANTANCK. He added approaching the 1100 Metres ANOTHER ZONDA, which was racing keenly, improved past FRANTANCK and when its rider did not contest the lead he elected to continue forward to cross FRANTANCK after entering the Back Straight near the 900 Metres. When questioned if there was an opportunity to maintain a position to the outside of FRANTANCK to avoid setting a faster pace J Orman stated that as his mount was racing keenly and he had improved past FRANTANCK he felt that his mount’s best opportunity was to continue forward and cross that runner rather than having to continually restrain his mount. He further stated that after improving to the lead he was able to reduce the pace through the middle stages of the event in an attempt to assist his mount to finish off in the Home Straight but ANOTHER ZONDA failed to respond to his riding. Trainer Y S Tsui confirmed the preference was to obtain cover. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea. Before being allowed to race again, ANOTHER ZONDA will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
10 3 LEAPING STAR (L189) 9 M L Yeung From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

1 6 BEAUTY VIVA (K155) 1 H Bowman H Bowman stated that from the inside barrier his intention was to hold a more forward position than its previous race starts. He said as a result he rode his mount along in the early stages and when BEAUTY VIVA showed more pace than he had anticipated he was able to settle in a handy position. Trainer A S Cruz confirmed that the instructions were to hold a more forward position to take advantage of the inside barrier. Sent for sampling post-race.
12 7 DASHING PAL (K045) 10 C L Chau (-2) Bumped after travelling a short distance. Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event. The performance of DASHING PAL, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, DASHING PAL will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

4 6 TOGETHER WE VALUE (L170) 12 H Bowman Bumped after travelling a short distance. From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. When questioned regarding his riding in the middle stages and the reason he did not improve to the outside of CAUSEWAY KING sooner than he did H Bowman stated that after settling back in the field, making the turn near the 500 Metres his mount lay out and became unbalanced which resulted in him having to take hold to balance his horse. He added that passing the 450 Metres he expected CAUSEWAY KING would shift out as it was racing in a loose one-off position and as a result he remained racing behind that horse as his preference was to improve to its inside. He said when CAUSEWAY KING did not shift out he then was obliged to improve to that runner’s outside but as he did so CAUSEWAY KING then shifted out near the 350 Metres, resulting in TOGETHER WE VALUE having to make a wide run on the Home Turn. After considering his explanation the Stewards found the tactics adopted by Jockey Bowman were reasonable in the circumstances.
9 7 CAUSEWAY KING (L196) 11 M F Poon After travelling a short distance made contact with HORSEPOWER and TOGETHER WE VALUE.
10 8 MR DESIRA (K411) 9 C Y Ho Lay in over the concluding stages when giving ground. C Y Ho reported that he had to make use of the horse in the early stages to go forward and as a result his mount did not finish the race off in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
11 9 DASHING BASICS (L224) 7 A Atzeni Jumped only fairly. A Atzeni stated that his mount, which was having its first race start in Hong Kong, would derive a benefit from tonight’s race experience. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

1 12 BUNTA BABY (J465) 5 A Badel A Badel stated that the intention was to hold a midfield position. He said after commencing well he was able to settle more forward than anticipated. Sent for sampling post-race.
10 COPPER CORE (L214) M L Yeung After being placed in the starting gates reared and became cast for a short period. Was withdrawn by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice after it was found to be lame in its right front leg. Before being allowed to race again, COPPER CORE will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

He added after his mount jumped awkwardly and made contact with CALL TO COMMAND he was caught wide in the early stages. He said he then elected to obtain a position further back in the field than instructed to avoid racing wide.
11 7 AWESOME TREASURE (E435) 9 P N Wong (-7) Near the 300 Metres was hampered when MOTOR shifted out and made contact with AWESOME TREASURE, carrying AWESOME TREASURE wider. Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
4 8 DAN ATTACK (H317) 4 H Bentley Near the 150 Metres was eased to avoid KING PROFIT (E C W Wong) which shifted out. E C W Wong was advised to exercise more care.
5 10 BRAVE WIN (K421) 5 C Y Ho C Y Ho stated that making the first turn his mount hung out which resulted in him having to correct it at that point.
7 11 VIGOR ELLEEGANT (J375) 10 M Chadwick As the start as effected stood flat-footed and was very slow to begin. The barrier manners of VIGOR ELLEEGANT were considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, VIGOR ELLEEGANT will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial. In the early and middle stages raced keenly and near the 900 Metres was steadied and shifted to the outside of SILVER SPURS.
9 12 CALL TO COMMAND (J243) 8 M L Yeung On jumping became unbalanced when bumped by SILVER SPURS which shifted out. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be a "roarer” which had previously been reported.
9 AMAZING FUN (H442) R Kingscote Was withdrawn on raceday morning by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice after sustaining wounds to multiple limbs due to being fractious whilst being transported to the course. Before being allowed to race again, AMAZING FUN will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

A Atzeni stated that his mount jumped only fairly and he was then obliged to make use of it in the early stages to go forward in accordance with his instructions. He said when caught wide in the early stages he had to continue to make use of the horse to obtain a position outside the lead and as a result in the Home Straight his mount was left without a finishing effort. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of GIANT LEAP was considered disappointing as compared to its previous race start. Before being allowed to race again, GIANT LEAP will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

9 5 THE PERFECT MATCH (J253) 9 H Bowman H Bowman stated that he was given no specific instructions. He said when his mount jumped well he elected to go forward but was obliged to make too much use of the horse in the early stages which resulted in THE PERFECT MATCH not finishing the race off in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
7 6 PHOENIX LIGHT (G192) 10 D B McMonagle Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event. D B McMonagle was warned in relation to using his whip in a manner where the hand holding the whip was above shoulder height on one occasion near the 150 Metres.
6 7 KWAI CHUNG TALENTS (L144) 6 M L Yeung Near the 1100 Metres, when being eased to allow BROWNNEEDSFURTHER to cross, was momentarily crowded by BROWNNEEDSFURTHER when that runner was racing tight to the inside of GIANT LEAP which in turn was taken in slightly by THE PERFECT MATCH which shifted in and away from GIANT BALLON despite the efforts of its rider.
2 8 BROWNNEEDSFURTHER (K325) 7 J Orman Bumped after travelling a short distance. J Orman stated that with blinkers being applied for the first time he was instructed to go forward and ride the horse in a similar manner when it won a barrier trial at Happy Valley on 14 March 2026 where it wore blinkers. Sent for sampling post-race.
3 9 LOVING VIBES (J359) 12 C L Chau (-2) Jumped awkwardly. Between the 300 Metres and the 150 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running when improving into a narrow run between GIANT LEAP and THE PERFECT MATCH. Trainer M Newnham confirmed that from the outside barrier the instructions were to ride the horse in a conservative manner in the early stages.

He said in the early stages his mount was caught wide and without cover and when the early stages of the event were run outside of standard time he allowed his mount to stride forward to settle outside the lead to avoid covering additional ground.
