JUBILANT STAR (K410) | 12 | Z Purton | When questioned regarding his riding Z Purton stated that he had expected to settle back in the field from the outside barrier and had been instructed to endeavour to take runs to the inside as connections felt that it had been advantageous to race in this position having regard to the racing pattern today. He said as a consequence after settling back in the field he elected to remain racing behind GORGEOUS VICTORY and SUPREME VOYAGER rather than shifting out on the Home Turn to start a forward move. He said after improving to the inside of CHATER FLASH near the 400 Metres he endeavoured to secure clear running between CHATER FLASH and SMILING CHAMPION. He added that as he commenced to improve between those two runners CHATER FLASH shifted in slightly and SMILING CHAMPION lay out which resulted in the run becoming too tight to improve into and as a consequence JUBILANT STAR was held up for clear running between the 300 Metres and the 150 Metres where he then shifted to the outside of CHATER FLASH to obtain clear running. Trainer D J Hall confirmed the instructions and stated he issued those instructions as he was of the opinion that it would be advantageous to improve close to the rail. Before being allowed to race again, CHATER FLASH will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. |
| 3 | 10 | ![]() |

| 12 | 11 | ![]() |
