10 1 GOOD FORTUNE (H349) 6 P N Wong (-7) Shifted out at the start and was bumped. Apprentice P N Wong stated that her mount raced wide although it was able to obtain cover. She added that in the Home Straight GOOD FORTUNE did not respond to her riding and felt "flat”. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
12 2 ONE LOVE (K584) 7 A Atzeni On jumping shifted out and made contact with MR GOOD VIBES. Shortly after ONE LOVE was crowded by GOOD FORTUNE which shifted out. Raced keenly in the early and middle stages. Near the 800 Metres was steadied to avoid DASH and as a result shifted out and made contact with BASIC INSTINCT.
8 3 SETANTA (G095) 9 L Ferraris L Ferraris stated that the horse would be better suited with the reapplication of blinkers. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
9 4 CALL TO COMMAND (J243) 5 H Bentley In the early stages raced keenly. When being crossed by YEE CHEONG RAIDER leaving the 1000 Metres got its head up when being restrained to avoid that runner.
6 5 WINNING CIGAR (K422) 11 B Avdulla Slow to begin.
4 6 WINNING DIAMOND (K216) 3 H Bowman Shortly after the start was crowded between HE WAS ME and DASH, both of which shifted ground.
13 7 BASIC INSTINCT (K289) 10 K C Leung Near the 800 Metres was bumped and taken wider by ONE LOVE which shifted out.
11 8 DASH (K250) 4 A Badel Shifted in shortly after the start and was bumped. Leaving the 1100 Metres raced keenly and was steadied to avoid CALL TO COMMAND. A Badel stated that his mount did not run out the 1400 Metres of today’s race. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be a "roarer” which had previously been reported.
3 9 WINNING MACHINE (K239) 1 J Moreira Near the 400 Metres was shifted to the outside of YEE CHEONG RAIDER to obtain clear running and as a result made contact with PANDA LEGEND. Then lay out under pressure in the early stages of the Home Straight and near the 250 Metres shifted out and made contact with PANDA LEGEND. Sent for sampling post-race.
2 10 YEE CHEONG RAIDER (J176) 12 L Hewitson L Hewitson reported that from a wide barrier he was instructed to go forward. Sent for sampling post-race.
5 11 PANDA LEGEND (H002) 13 J Orman Bumped near the 400 Metres. Near the 250 Metres became unbalanced when bumped by WINNING MACHINE which lay out. J Orman stated that he was given the option of holding a more forward position. He said when PANDA LEGEND commenced well he elected to go forward but was obliged to race wide and without cover for the majority of the event. Trainer W Y So confirmed the instructions issued.
1 12 HE WAS ME (J535) 2 K Teetan Shifted out shortly after the start and was bumped. Sent for sampling post-race.
14 13 MR GOOD VIBES (H180) 8 R Kingscote Jumped only fairly and then was bumped by ONE LOVE which shifted out. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
7 14 ISLAND GOLDEN (H018) 14 Y L Chung (-2) Y L Chung stated that his instructions were to go forward and lead if possible. He said as a consequence he rode his mount along in the early stages to comply with those instructions but when unable to cross runners to his inside ISLAND GOLDEN was obliged to race very wide and without cover for the majority of the event. Trainer K L Man confirmed the instructions and stated he issued those instructions as he felt ISLAND GOLDEN would not be able to make up ground in the Home Straight if it settled back in the field.

10 1 BEAUTY MISSILE (H123) 9 H Bowman Shifted in near the 300 Metres and was bumped. H Bowman reported that his mount did not respond to his riding when placed under pressure in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Sent for sampling post-race.
9 2 DASHING MAURISON (K374) 6 P N Wong (-7) Jumped only fairly. Apprentice P N Wong stated that after settling back in the field her mount hung in in the Home Straight and proved difficult to ride out. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
12 3 IRON LEGION (J459) 7 Y L Chung (-2) Bumped at the start. Brushed near the 300 Metres. Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event. Y L Chung stated that he was obliged to race wide and without cover in the early stages. He said when GENERAL SMART shifted out after the 800 Metres his mount was bumped by GENERAL SMART and taken wider and did not finish the race off thereafter. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
11 4 RATTAN GALAXY (K143) 11 C Y Ho Near the 1100 Metres was steadied to avoid GENERAL SMART when racing keenly. RATTAN GALAXY continued to race keenly in the middle stages. Near the 300 Metres was bumped by BEAUTY MISSILE which shifted in. As a result RATTAN GALAXY then shifted in and brushed IRON LEGION.
1 5 BLING BLING GENIUS (J397) 3 B Avdulla After the 1000 Metres raced keenly and was steadied to avoid GENERAL SMART for some distance thereafter. Sent for sampling post-race.
13 6 GENERAL SMART (K138) 13 Z Purton On jumping was crowded between SPEEDY TRIDENT and THE WAY WE WIN. In the middle stages raced keenly and after the 800 Metres was shifted to the outside of SPEEDY TRIDENT. Z Purton stated that his intention was to ride the horse in a conservative manner in the early stages. He said when GENERAL SMART jumped well and the pace of the event was only moderate he was able to hold an on-pace position without having to pressure his mount to do so. He added that GENERAL SMART was disadvantaged by IRON LEGION being positioned to his outside and as a result gave ground in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
4 7 COOL BLUE (H011) 10 M Chadwick Jumped only fairly. Between the 300 Metres and the 200 Metres was shifted out to continue into clear running.
14 8 SPEEDY TRIDENT (K230) 12 M L Yeung On jumping made contact with GENERAL SMART and then shortly after blundered. M L Yeung reported that the instructions were to go forward. Trainer Y S Tsui confirmed the instructions and stated he issued those instructions as the horse had not been finishing its races off in recent starts.
2 9 WINDICATOR FAMILY (H419) 8 K C Leung Shifted in at the start, made contact with IRON LEGION and became unbalanced. Sent for sampling post-race.

1 2 HAPPY BOSS (K453) 13 L Ferraris L Ferraris stated that with an expected lack of pace in the event the connections had requested him to go forward. He said when HAPPY BOSS jumped well and the pace of the event was run outside of standard time in the early stages he was able to comply with those instructions. Sent for sampling post-race.
2 3 TOP TIME (K006) 2 J Orman Sent for sampling post-race.

5 7 INVICTUS DRAGON (K318) 8 Z Purton Bumped near the 900 Metres. Z Purton stated that his mount jumped only fairly and after settling back in the field found it difficult to make up ground in the Home Straight due to the early and middle stages of the event being run outside of standard time. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Sent for sampling post-race.
8 8 CHEERFUL WONGCHOY (L045) 5 K Teetan Raced keenly in the early stages and near the 1000 Metres was steadied to avoid AMAZING FUN. Near the 900 Metres shifted out and made contact with INVICTUS DRAGON when racing ungenerously. For a short distance near the 350 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running. Trainer P C Ng advised that he had instructed K Teetan to ride the horse in a conservative manner in the early stages as the horse had been finishing its races off only fairly when ridden in a forward position.
10 9 TYCOON EXPRESS (K376) 11 J Moreira From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Near the 900 Metres was tightened to the inside of CHEERFUL WONGCHOY. Approaching the 800 Metres TYCOON EXPRESS was then steadied when crowded by CHEERFUL WONGCHOY which shifted in when it continued to race ungenerously. Over the final 50 Metres could not be ridden out when racing in restricted room between GOLDEN WIN and LIGHTNESS OF BEING which was giving ground. J Moreira stated that his mount was reluctant to race inside other horses and after settling back in the field found it difficult to make up ground in the Home Straight, particularly with the early stages of the event being run outside of standard time. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

11 13 AMAZING FUN (H442) 6 M Chadwick Throughout the early stages raced ungenerously and near the 1000 Metres got its head up when being steadied to avoid THE CONCENTRATION which shifted out.
7 14 THE CONCENTRATION (H465) 3 A Atzeni Near the 1100 Metres, when racing keenly, was steadied to avoid HAPPY BOSS (L Ferraris) which shifted in when not clear. L Ferraris was reprimanded and advised to ensure that he is sufficiently clear when shifting ground.

9 6 JUBILANT STAR (K410) 12 Z Purton When questioned regarding his riding Z Purton stated that he had expected to settle back in the field from the outside barrier and had been instructed to endeavour to take runs to the inside as connections felt that it had been advantageous to race in this position having regard to the racing pattern today. He said as a consequence after settling back in the field he elected to remain racing behind GORGEOUS VICTORY and SUPREME VOYAGER rather than shifting out on the Home Turn to start a forward move. He said after improving to the inside of CHATER FLASH near the 400 Metres he endeavoured to secure clear running between CHATER FLASH and SMILING CHAMPION. He added that as he commenced to improve between those two runners CHATER FLASH shifted in slightly and SMILING CHAMPION lay out which resulted in the run becoming too tight to improve into and as a consequence JUBILANT STAR was held up for clear running between the 300 Metres and the 150 Metres where he then shifted to the outside of CHATER FLASH to obtain clear running. Trainer D J Hall confirmed the instructions and stated he issued those instructions as he was of the opinion that it would be advantageous to improve close to the rail. Noted to have lost its left hind plate after the race.
10 7 SMILING CHAMPION (K565) 3 J Orman Lay out in the early stages of the Home Straight. J Orman confirmed that from an inside barrier he was instructed to make use of that barrier and hold a more forward position than it did at its first race start.
7 8 SUPREME VOYAGER (L043) 9 B Avdulla Shortly after the start was steadied when crowded between VICTOR THE RAPID and GORGEOUS VICTORY which shifted out. SUPREME VOYAGER was then shifted across behind runners in the early stages from a wide barrier.
11 9 CHATER FLASH (L082) 6 L Ferraris Shortly after the start got its head up, shifted out and made contact with FULL OF LAUGHTER. Throughout the early and middle stages raced ungenerously and near the 1000 Metres got its head up when being steadied to avoid CONRAD PATCH. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea. Before being allowed to race again, CHATER FLASH will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
3 10 GORGEOUS VICTORY (L087) 8 Y L Chung (-2) Shifted in shortly after the start, was bumped and became unbalanced.
12 11 FULL OF LAUGHTER (L017) 7 R Kingscote Shortly after the start was checked when crowded between GORGEOUS VICTORY which shifted in slightly and CHATER FLASH which got its head up and shifted out despite the efforts of its rider.
8 12 RUBY SAILING (H347) 1 P N Wong (-7) Apprentice P N Wong stated that after leading the event her mount gave ground in the Home Straight and made a respiratory noise. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be a "roarer” which had previously been reported.

CALIFORNIATOTALITY – Additional diagnostic assessments performed on the horse did not reveal any significant findings.

4. Whip Rule Offences – 8 April 2026 Happy Valley Racemeeting

The following jockeys were found to be in breach of Rule 100(3)(ii)(a) for using the whip on consecutive occasions:-
Race 7 (591)
A Badel (LUCKY TWIN STARS) – 3 consecutive strides near the 150 Metres – A fine of $4,000
Race 9 (593)
J Moreira (MIGHTY COMMANDER) – 4 consecutive strides near the 150 Metres – Reprimand

Race 3 (587)
C Y Ho (VIVA BOSS) was reprimanded in relation to using his whip on a horse which was clearly out of contention.
