She said when the early stages were being run inside of standard time she was crossed by VIVA CHALEUR after which her mount finished the race off only fairly in the Home Straight. 5 CIRRUS SPEED (K279) H Bowman After being placed in the starting gates got both front legs over the barrier partition. Was withdrawn by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice. 12 1 FLASH CURRENT (J500) 4 C L Chau (-2) On jumping was bumped on the hindquarters by LET’S HAVE FUN and became unbalanced. Between the 350 Metres and the 300 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running when endeavouring to improve between CHIU CHOW GOLF and DERRYNBLUE. When CHIU CHOW GOLF was taken out by PRESTIGE HALL, FLASH CURRENT was then shifted to the inside of CHIU CHOW GOLF to obtain clear running. C L Chau stated that his mount did not travel well during the event and failed to run on in the Home Straight which he attributed to the "Good to Yielding” track conditions. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
5 2 KING OF FIGHTERS (K174) 14 K Teetan From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

2 4 SKY DEEP (K041) 11 L Hewitson Near the 150 Metres shifted out under pressure, resulting in its rider L Hewitson having to correct his mount near the 100 Metres. Sent for sampling post-race.
3 5 CALL ME SPARKLE (K571) 1 J Orman Between the 350 Metres and the 300 Metres was held up for clear running when improving between ETERNAL RICHNESS and MASSIVE REWARD which shifted out before being corrected by its rider. Sent for sampling post-race.
14 6 ETERNAL RICHNESS (K557) 2 C Y Ho For some distance near the 1100 Metres raced keenly and was steadied to avoid MASSIVE REWARD (Y L Chung) which shifted in when not sufficiently clear. Y L Chung was advised to exercise more care. C Y Ho reported that when his mount gave ground in the Home Straight the had concerns with its action. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea. Before being allowed to race again, ETERNAL RICHNESS will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
11 7 CHIU CHOW GOLF (L216) 6 H Bentley Shifted in at the start and made contact with LET’S HAVE FUN. Near the 1300 Metres made contact with FRANCIS MEYNELL due to both runners shifting ground. Near the 300 Metres was hampered when taken wider by PRESTIGE HALL which shifted out. Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
13 8 SPICY BONUS (L086) 9 K C Leung Jumped awkwardly, shifted out, made contact with DERRYNBLUE and lost ground. Near the 800 Metres was steadied to avoid LADY’S LOVE (R Kingscote) which shifted in. R Kingscote was advised to exercise more care.

14 13 SHARPEN BRIGHT (H276) 12 M F Poon Near the 600 Metres lay in when under pressure and as a result made contact with FLUORESCENCE. Near the 500 Metres raced tight between FOREVER FOLKS and FLUORESCENCE which shifted out to improve.
9 14 ON THE LASH (J182) 10 H Y Yuen (-10) When questioned Apprentice H Y Yuen stated that her instructions were to go forward and attempt to lead the event. She said when AMAZING GAZE and AUTOMATED showed superior pace in the early stages she was crossed by those runners approaching the 1400 Metres. She said a short distance later when racing wide and without cover ON THE LASH raced ungenerously and got its head up. When questioned if there was an opportunity to go forward and lead the event approaching the 1200 Metres when the pace was being run outside of standard time Apprentice Yuen agreed with the Stewards that in retrospect she had made an error of judgement in not urging her mount forward at that stage to avoid covering additional ground. She was advised that in similar circumstances she would be expected to show better judgement than what she did on this occasion. Trainer P C Ng confirmed the instructions issued and stated that, in his opinion, Apprentice Yuen should have allowed ON THE LASH to go forward after being crossed by AMAZING GAZE and AUTOMATED. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Race:5 (778) SAND MARTIN HANDICAP (Sec1) Class 4 1200 m

3 3 HAPPY SHOOTER (J427) 2 L Hewitson Shortly after the start was hampered when taken out by ONE MAN SHOW. Noted to have bled from both nostrils after the race. Before being allowed to race again, HAPPY SHOOTER will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
8 4 LUCKY DOCTOR (L225) 8 C L Chau (-2) A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
11 5 ONE MAN SHOW (K409) 1 P N Wong (-7) Shortly after the start shifted out, resulting in its rider having to correct her mount. Near the 500 Metres was steadied to avoid PEJIBAYE (J Orman) which shifted in when not sufficiently clear. J Orman was advised to exercise more care. Apprentice P N Wong stated that after this incident her mount raced keenly which resulted in it improving to the inside of PEJIBAYE near the 900 Metres where she was then obliged to restrain her mount. She said the instructions were to lead, however, her mount did not show sufficient pace in the early stages to do so and was crossed by PEJIBAYE. She added ONE MAN SHOW did not travel well thereafter before giving ground in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be a "roarer” and an endoscopic examination also showed a substantial amount of blood in its trachea. Before being allowed to race again, ONE MAN SHOW will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Sent for sampling post-race.
5 6 CALIFORNIA BAY (K364) 10 H Bowman Near the 700 Metres was hampered when bumped by DAY DAY VICTORY. As a result CALIFORNIA BAY became unbalanced, shifted out and made contact with MEGA CAPTAIN.
1 7 MEGA CAPTAIN (L287) 9 Z Purton Near the 700 Metres was hampered when contacted by CALIFORNIA BAY. Noted to have sustained a wound to the left hind cannon. Sent for sampling post-race.
10 8 DAY DAY VICTORY (J423) 3 H Y Yuen (-10) Shortly after the start was badly crowded between TOPSPIN KING and HAPPY SHOOTER which was taken out by ONE MAN SHOW (Apprentice P N Wong) which shifted out whilst being ridden along. Whilst the Stewards accepted that Apprentice Wong had made some effort to straighten her mount, she was reprimanded and advised in similar circumstances she would be required to make a greater effort to prevent her mounts from shifting ground. Apprentice H Y Yuen stated that near the 700 Metres her mount shifted out when racing ungenerously and made contact with CALIFORNIA BAY. She said DAY DAY VICTORY was then not comfortable racing inside other horses for some distance thereafter. She added that after the 500 Metres DAY DAY VICTORY shifted out when awkwardly placed close to CALIFORNIA BAY. When questioned regarding her riding in the Home Straight Apprentice Yuen stated that after shifting to the outside of ONE MAN SHOW when that runner was giving ground, her intention was to continue to shift out to secure clear running. She said due to the kickback her visibility was impaired and as she shifted to the outside of ONE MAN SHOW she became positioned close to LUCKY DOCTOR when DAY DAY VICTORY shifted out further than she had intended. She said as a result she was obliged to steady to avoid LUCKY DOCTOR before then shifting to the inside of that runner near the 200 Metres where she was able to secure clear running. Apprentice Yuen was reminded of her obligations to report to the Stewards anything that affects her ability to ride her mounts out and, whenever possible, she must ensure that she avails herself of runs when they present. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
9 9 CAP LINER (L012) 6 A Badel On jumping bumped with SUPER RUBICK KID when taken in by JUICY DRAGON.
7 10 SUPER RUBICK KID (L259) 5 Y L Chung (-2) Jumped only fairly and then shortly after the start was checked when crowded. Y L Chung stated that after being checked at the start his mount settled back in the field and failed to show sufficient pace in the early stages to hold a more forward position. He said after entering the Home Straight his vision was impaired due to the kickback and after shifting to the inside of DAY DAY VICTORY near the 250 Metres he commenced to ride his mount along. He added after improving quickly behind CAP LINER he was obliged to ride his mount in a cautious manner approaching the 100 Metres as his vision was still impaired and he was concerned he was positioned too close to CAP LINER. He added after improving to the inside of CAP LINER near the 50 Metres SUPER RUBICK KID finished the race off well, however, he was not able to fully test his mount due to his restricted visibility. Noted to have bled from the left nostril after the race. An endoscopic examination confirmed the horse to be a bleeder. Before being allowed to race again, SUPER RUBICK KID will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

10 5 CORNERSTONE (K519) 12 Y L Chung (-2) Jumped awkwardly. From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Approaching the 900 Metres was steadied to avoid the fallen SMILING FALCON. Leaving the 300 Metres was shifted to the inside of SYNERGY EXPRESS to obtain clear running. As CORNERSTONE was shifted in, ROMANTIC LAOS then improved to the inside of CORNERSTONE, resulting in CORNERSTONE then racing tight between SYNERGY EXPRESS and ROMANTIC LAOS between the 300 Metres and the 150 Metres.
7 6 ROMANTIC LAOS (G476) 4 C Y Ho Between the 450 Metres and the 400 Metres was held up for clear running. On a number of occasions between the 300 Metres and the 200 Metres made contact with CORNERSTONE when racing tight to the inside of that runner.

11 13 PERIDOT (K148) 13 M F Poon On jumping got its head up, became unbalanced and lost ground. Approaching the 900 Metres was severely checked to avoid SMILING FALCON when that runner fell. M F Poon stated that after this incident PERIDOT was unable to improve until near the 450 Metres when racing behind CORNERSTONE and to the inside of SUNDAY’S SERENADE. Near the 200 Metres was eased to avoid SUNDAY’S SERENADE when both runners shifted ground slightly. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
UR 14 SMILING FALCON (K459) 7 H Bentley Jumped only fairly. Approaching the 900 Metres SMILING FALCON sustained an injury to the left front leg and fell, dislodging H Bentley. SMILING FALCON was immediately treated by Veterinarians. After it was determined that the injury was too severe to be saved, SMILING FALCON was euthanised. Jockey Bentley was transported to hospital for treatment. Samples were taken from the horse.

12 2 REAL GENTLEMAN (K534) 4 K C Leung Bumped shortly after the start. Near the 800 Metres LUCRATIVE EIGHT (K Teetan) shifted in, resulting in ABSOLUTE LUCKY being taken in towards REAL GENTLEMAN. A short distance later ABSOLUTE LUCKY then shifted in and away from LUCRATIVE EIGHT, resulting in REAL GENTLEMAN having to be checked. K Teetan was severely reprimanded. K C Leung stated that after this incident his mount did not travel and gave ground in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of REAL GENTLEMAN, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, REAL GENTLEMAN will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
1 3 SUPERB SPIRIT (L040) 2 Z Purton Shifted out at the start and was bumped. Between the 400 Metres and the 300 Metres was held up for clear running. When being shifted to the outside of ISLAND BUDDY near the 300 Metres made contact with ABSOLUTE LUCKY. Sent for sampling post-race.
8 4 MABUBU (K586) 11 J Orman Briefly held up on the Home Turn. For a short distance near the 300 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running. Approaching the finish was eased to avoid STAR OF HEARTS which shifted out abruptly. J Orman stated that the instructions were to go forward if his mount commenced well but he was also given the option of riding it in a conservative manner if unable to go forward. He said when MABUBU jumped only fairly he elected to ride the horse in a conservative manner in the early stages. Trainer W Y So confirmed the instructions issued.
9 5 SIGHT DREAMER (J542) 9 H Bowman Bumped shortly after the start. After the 900 Metres was hampered when bumped by STAR OF HEARTS. H Bowman stated that after responding to his riding in the early stages of the Home Straight the horse’s run ended near the 150 Metres where it then finished the race off only fairly. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Leaving the 900 Metres hung out when positioned close to SUPERB SPIRIT and as a result made contact with SIGHT DREAMER. Approaching the finish shifted out abruptly, resulting in its rider Y L Chung having to stop riding and straighten his mount.

When questioned C L Chau stated that his instructions were to ride the horse in a conservative manner in the early stages as INFINITE RESOLVE races best when held up for a finishing effort in the Home Straight. He said in accordance with his instructions, in the early stages when positioned to the outside of PACKING ANGEL he elected to remain racing in that position where he was wide and without cover. He said although he was aware the pace of the event was being run outside of standard time he was reluctant to allow his mount to improve forward as he was of the opinion this would be in contrast to his instructions issued. He said for this reason he remained racing towards the rear of the field in a three wide position, however, in the Home Straight INFINITE RESOLVE was unable to run on due to its wide run and being unable to make up ground due to the slow pace set in the early stages. Trainer M Newnham confirmed the instructions but stated that, in his opinion, Jockey Chau should have shown initiative in the middle stages to allow INFINITE RESOLVE to stride forward to cross PACKING ANGEL. After considering his explanation the Stewards advised Jockey Chau that he had made an error of judgement by not improving forward of PACKING ANGEL in the early stages to avoid racing wide and without cover. He was advised that in similar circumstances he would be expected to show better judgement than what he did on this occasion. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
2 7 BEAUTY ALLIANCE (J260) 3 B Avdulla Sent for sampling post-race.
8 8 MIGHTY MASTS (L153) 9 J Orman Near the 800 Metres became unbalanced when bumped by INFINITE RESOLVE which shifted in before being corrected by its rider. J Orman stated that the instructions were to ride the horse back in the field. He said with the pace of the event being run outside of standard time MIGHTY MASTS raced keenly. He said in the Home Straight the horse responded only fairly to his riding and although disadvantaged by the slow early pace he was still disappointed with the horse’s performance. Trainer W Y So confirmed the instructions and agreed with the assessment offered by Jockey Orman in respect to the performance of the horse. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea. Before being allowed to race again, MIGHTY MASTS will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Sent for sampling post-race.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of LUCKY PLANET, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, LUCKY PLANET will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

C L Chau (DREAMING TOGETHER) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that after the 400 Metres he shifted his mount to the outside of MORGAN SUCCESS when there was not sufficient room to do so, resulting in DREAMING TOGETHER making contact with TRINITY TREASURE, taking TRINITY TREASURE wider and then across the running of QUANTUM LEGEND, resulting in QUANTUM LEGEND blundering badly when contacted by TRINITY TREASURE. C L Chau was suspended from riding in races for one Hong Kong raceday to be conducted on Wednesday, 15 July 2026 at Happy Valley. In assessing penalty, the Stewards determined the carelessness grade 2 and the consequences grade 2 and also considered his very good race riding record.

SUPER EXPRESS then raced wide and without cover thereafter. Leaving the 100 Metres shifted in towards THE RED HARE, resulting in its rider H Bowman having to correct his mount. H Bowman stated his instructions were to ensure the horse settled in the early stages. He added although SUPER EXPRESS jumped well he rode the horse in a conservative manner so as to comply with his instructions. Sent for sampling post-race.
