D Probert was advised to exercise more care and to stop riding and straighten his mounts sooner when they shift ground whilst not clear. L Hewitson could offer no excuse for his mount’s disappointing performance. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
5 7 TEAM HAPPY (J218) 5 K Teetan K Teetan reported that in the early stages when unable to cross SKY SONG he elected to come back to follow that runner which resulted in his mount settling further back in the field than what he had intended.
12 8 WOODFIRE CHAMP (H292) 1 M L Yeung Near the 600 Metres was bumped. M L Yeung could offer no excuse for his mount’s disappointing performance. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

He said SONIC BOOM was unable to show sufficient pace in the early stages to cross runners to his inside which resulted in his mount racing wide and without cover for the majority of the event. He added that as a consequence SONIC BOOM was unable to finish the race off when under pressure in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

M F Poon reported that he was given no specific instruction but when caught wide in the early stages he elected to allow his mount to stride forward to avoid covering additional ground. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of GREAT LEGACY, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, GREAT LEGACY will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

7 12 KASA PAPA (G312) 5 H Doyle Approaching the 1500 Metres was steadied when momentarily crowded between JOYFUL PROSPERITY and NOBLE PURSUIT which shifted in before being corrected by its rider H Bowman. H Doyle reported that the intention was to hold a forward position but her mount jumped only fairly and then did not show sufficient pace in the early stages to hold a more forward position. Trainer P C Ng confirmed that from a wide barrier he had instructed M Guyon to ride the horse in a conservative manner in the early stages to offset the wide barrier. Noted to have multiple lacerations to the right hind leg after the race. Sent for sampling post-race.
9 3 THE AZURE (J227) 4 J Orman Jumped only fairly, shifted out and made contact with SHANGHAI STYLE. When the pace steadied approaching the 800 Metres was checked to avoid QUICK CONTRIBUTION. Between the 250 Metres and the 50 Metres was held up for clear running.
11 4 GOOD GOOD (J224) 6 B Avdulla A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

8 6 RAGGA BOMB (K162) 2 E C W Wong (-5) Bumped on jumping. When questioned Apprentice E C W Wong stated that his instructions were to hold an on-pace position and obtain cover if possible. He said after complying with his instructions in the early stages to hold an on-pace position RAGGA BOMB then improved to the lead leaving the 1400 Metres. He stated when WORLD HERO improved to his outside he was content to allow that runner to cross but when RAGGA BOMB raced a little keenly this resulted in the horse holding the lead. He added entering the Back Straight he applied further restraint to his mount to reduce the pace of the event, however, in retrospect he agreed with the Stewards that he had steadied the pace too quickly which resulted in a number of runners positioned behind him sustaining interference. Apprentice Wong was advised that in similar circumstances he must ensure that when he attempts to reduce the pace of a race he must not do so too quickly to avoid causing interference to other runners. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

3 8 WINNING MONEY (J116) 9 Z Purton When questioned Z Purton stated that his instructions were to hold the lead in accordance with the horse’s usual racing pattern. He said in the early stages after jumping well he obtained a position to the outside of LEAN MASTER and he had expected that horse not show as much pace as his mount and therefore he would be able to cross that runner. He said when LEAN MASTER continued to hold its position to his inside entering the Back Straight he elected to allow WINNING MONEY to stride forward to cross that runner as he was of the opinion had he endeavoured to restrain his mount it would have commenced to race keenly and also as it has a tendency to hang out in its races. He added as a consequence throughout the middle stages WINNING MONEY set a faster pace than he would have liked. Trainer K W Lui confirmed the instructions issued and also agreed with Jockey Purton that WINNING MONEY has a tendency to race keenly and hang out when restrained. Sent for sampling post-race.
10 9 HEROIC MASTER (G394) 11 B Avdulla From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. In the early stages raced keenly and for some distance near the 1000 Metres was steadied away from SPEEDY TRIDENT. Near the 200 Metres was bumped by LAKESHORE HERO which shifted in.

In the Home Straight lay out and near the 200 Metres shifted out abruptly, resulting in its rider Y L Chung having to stop riding and straighten. When commencing to finish the race off well was steadied near the 50 Metres when disappointed for clear running between YEE CHEONG SPIRIT and WINNING NOW and as a consequence was unable to be ridden out to the finish.

Near the 200 Metres was hampered and taken wider by FATAL BLOW. M L Yeung stated that his mount was disadvantaged by the early and middle stages of the event being run inside of standard time which resulted in the horse not travelling well in the early stages. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be a "roarer” which had previously been reported.

Trainer J Richards advised that the horse had pleased him prior to the race and the only explanation he could offer was that SONIC PURSUIT was disadvantaged by racing wide in the early stages. 12 2 THE ALL OUT (K291) 4 A Atzeni L Hewitson (AWESOME TREASURE) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that approaching the 1000 Metres he allowed his mount to shift in when not clear of THE ALL OUT, resulting in THE ALL OUT having to be restrained to avoid the heels of AWESOME TREASURE, shifting out and making contact with JOLLY COMPANION, resulting in THE ALL OUT having to be checked. L Hewitson was suspended from riding in races for one Hong Kong raceday to be conducted on Thursday, 1 January 2026 at Sha Tin. In assessing penalty, the Stewards determined the carelessness grade 2 and the consequences grade 2 and also considered his very good race riding record. Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

H Doyle stated that after being heavily contacted on the hindquarters making the first turn she felt there may be something amiss with the horse and as a consequence she was reluctant to fully test it thereafter. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Sent for sampling post-race.
10 12 GLORY CLOUD (H320) 3 D Probert Lay out making the first turn. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea. Before being allowed to race again, GLORY CLOUD will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

He added that his mount came under pressure from the 600 Metres where he had some concerns with its action thereafter before it gave ground in the Home Straight. Trainer Y S Tsui confirmed the instructions issued. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Before being allowed to race again, WONDER KIT will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

11 8 LIGHTNESS OF BEING (K159) 9 H Doyle Shortly after the start became badly unbalanced when bumped by FRIENDS OF SHAJING which shifted out slightly. H Doyle stated that after being contacted heavily shortly after the start her mount failed to travel at any stage of the event thereafter. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
9 9 ALL TOO BRAVE (K493) 10 A Atzeni Shortly after the start was steadied when crowded between LIGHTNESS OF BEING and PERFECT GENERAL which was taken in by WONDER KIT.
4 10 PERFECT GENERAL (J417) 11 M Guyon Shortly after the start made heavy contact with WONDER KIT due to both runners shifting ground, resulting in PERFECT GENERAL becoming unbalanced. M Guyon, rider of the 4th placegetter, was severely reprimanded for failing to ride his mount out to the end of the race. In assessing the incident the Stewards took into account the margin of a neck between the 3rd and 4th placegetters and were satisfied that his riding did not affect the horse’s finishing position.

L Hewitson reported that making the turns in the middle stages his mount lay out towards I CAN and did not appear to appreciate racing around the Happy Valley circuit. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Trainer Y S Tsui stated that the instructions were to ride the horse with cover tonight as it had not been finishing its races off when leading. He added TELECOM FIGHTERS settled slightly further back in the field than what he had anticipated.
