14 1 TURIN WARRIOR (G150) K C Leung After travelling a short distance lay out and made contact with STORM RUNNER. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
9 2 FORERUNNER (G465) W Buick On jumping was crowded by DRALA and ALWAYS MY FOLKS, both of which shifted ground. From a wide barrier was then shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Briefly held up behind THE HEIR near the 400 Metres. Between the 400 Metres and the 200 Metres was held up for clear running. Passing the 200 Metres was shifted to the inside of ICONICAL to secure clear running. Then over the final 50 Metres could not be fully ridden out when positioned close to CASHISCASH.
5 3 THE HEIR (H459) J Moreira Approaching the 400 Metres was held up when positioned close to the heels of TURIN WARRIOR.
10 4 TOP DRAGON (J481) H Bentley Near the 400 Metres was hampered when taken wider by FORTUNE BOY. After the event, H Bentley stated that from a wide barrier his instructions were to find a position midfield with cover if possible. He said when TOP DRAGON was caught wide and without cover in the early stages he was obliged to restrain his mount to race towards the rear of the field to avoid covering additional ground. He added that under pressure in the Home Straight TOP DRAGON responded only fairly to his riding and he attributed it to the horse settling further back in the field. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of TOP DRAGON was considered disappointing as compared to its previous race starts. Before being allowed to race again, TOP DRAGON will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

He said as a consequence his mount raced more forward than had been intended. Sent for sampling post-race.
13 9 ALWAYS MY FOLKS (J345) B Thompson Shifted in at the start and was bumped. Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

He said at the start DANCING CODE jumped well and when he observed the expected leader in the race HEALTHY HAPPY to not show early speed he elected to allow DANCING CODE to cross runners to his inside to avoid racing wide. He said after crossing CHIU CHOW SPIRIT near the 1100 Metres DANCING CODE raced keenly and despite his efforts ran inside of standard time between the 1200 Metres and the 400 Metres of the event. He added that although he was aware DANCING CODE was setting a fast pace he felt in the circumstances he had made sufficient effort to set a more sustainable pace but did not want to apply further pressure as DANCING CODE is light-mouthed and may have over-reacted to further pressure. Trainer C Fownes confirmed the instructions issued and expressed satisfaction with Apprentice Wong’s decision to go forward when caught wide in the early stages. He added whilst he recognized that DANCING CODE did have a light mouth, he agreed with the Stewards that he felt in the circumstances Apprentice Wong could have made a greater effort to reduce the pace in the middle stages to allow DANCING CODE the opportunity to finish the race off.

He said as a result ARMOUR WAR EAGLE settled back in the field. 12 1 HAPPY DAILY (E294) C Soumillon Near the 450 Metres MISTER DAPPER (B Avdulla), which was racing keenly, became positioned close to the heels of DEAL COMPLETED when that runner commenced to give ground. When DEAL COMPLETED then shifted out slightly making the Home Turn MISTER DAPPER improved to the inside of that runner and shortly after raced in restricted room between DEAL COMPLETED and THUNDER BLINK which shifted out slightly. A short distance later MISTER DAPPER was then taken to the fence by DEAL COMPLETED, resulting in HAPPY DAILY having to be severely checked and GALE SAGA, which was following HAPPY DAILY, also being checked. As the Stewards were satisfied that B Avdulla had not intentionally positioned his mount to the inside of DEAL COMPLETED and that MISTER DAPPER had improved to the inside of that runner due to it travelling keenly and DEAL COMPLETED initially shifting out as it made the Home Turn, no action was taken. He said when caught wide in the early stages he was unable to comply with his instructions and as a result NOISY BOY was obliged to race wide and without cover until near the 800 Metres. He added that due to the wide run in the early stages and the fact that the horse had a hard run at its most recent start on 2 March 2025, NOISY BOY gave ground under pressure in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

He said SUPER LEGENDS jumped awkwardly and became unbalanced and as a result his mount was positioned midfield in the early stages. He said when MAGNIFIQUE held its position to his inside he elected to endeavour to follow that runner but when caught wide to the outside of BASIC INSTINCT he was obliged to come further back to comply with his instructions to find cover. He added when placed under pressure in the Home Straight SUPER LEGENDS finished the race off well. Trainer C S Shum confirmed the instructions issued and emphasised that he required Jockey Soumillon to obtain cover to avoid racing wide.
2 3 TRIUMPHANT MORE (J489) A Badel Sent for sampling post-race.
6 4 MAGNIFIQUE (K141) B Avdulla On jumping was bumped by SUPER LEGENDS which shifted in. When questioned, B Avdulla stated that his instructions were to take up a forward position. He said MAGNIFIQUE, which had been unusually fractious in the barriers, was hampered at the start when it made contact with SUPER LEGENDS. He said in the early stages he was obliged to make use of MAGNIFIQUE to go forward and comply with his instructions and the horse did not show its usual speed in the early stages. He added in the Home Straight MAGNIFIQUE immediately came under pressure and when SUPER INFINITY and INVINCIBLE SHIELD shifted ground slightly near the 200 Metres his mount did not respond to his riding and gave ground from that point. Trainer D J Hall advised that MAGNIFIQUE had pleased him leading into today’s race and in particular had barrier trialed well at Sha Tin on 11 March 2025. He added that he had expected MAGNIFIQUE to perform well today and could offer no explanation for the horse’s disappointing performance. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of MAGNIFIQUE was considered disappointing as compared to its previous race starts. Before being allowed to race again, MAGNIFIQUE will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. 7 13 AURIO (K056) A Atzeni From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. When questioned regarding his riding, A Atzeni stated that the intention was to settle back in the field as is its usual racing pattern. He said making the Home Turn he considered shifting to the outside of CALL TO COMMAND to secure clear running. He added when he was of the opinion CALL TO COMMAND would give ground he elected to improve to that runner’s inside and follow FREE PONY. He said when LEGENDARY IMPACT then shifted out he was disappointed for clear running between that runner and CALL TO COMMAND and as a result was held up until near the 300 Metres. The Stewards advised Jockey Atzeni that, in their opinion, he would have been better suited by being shifted to the outside of CALL TO COMMAND on entering the Home Straight to provide his mount with clear and uninterrupted running.
9 LIGHTNESS OF BEING (K159) Y L Chung (-3) Withdrawn on 22.3.25 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right hind). Before being allowed to race again, LIGHTNESS OF BEING will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Colour Horse Jockey Incident
10 1 SENOR TOBA (G103) C Soumillon Jumped only fairly.
14 2 MONDIAL (K206) L Ferraris L Ferraris pleaded guilty to a careless riding charge for causing interference leaving the 1600 Metres (see PACKING HURRICANE). After the event, L Ferraris advised that with blinkers being applied today he was instructed to take up a more forward position. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
5 3 PRAY FOR MIR (J245) M Chadwick No report.
3 4 WINNING GOLD (H461) D McDonogh Between the 450 Metres and the 250 Metres was held up for clear running.
9 5 LUPO SOLITARIO (J495) J Orman No report.
2 6 ENTHRALLED (K252) B Avdulla Sent for sampling post-race.
4 7 PACKING HURRICANE (H137) K Teetan L Ferraris (MONDIAL) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that leaving the 1600 Metres he allowed his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of PACKING TURBINE, resulting in PACKING TURBINE being taken in onto MIDORI GIANT and causing PACKING HURRICANE to be checked. After assessing the carelessness grade 1 and the consequences grade 2 and having regard to his excellent race riding record, the Stewards determined the appropriate penalty to be a reprimand. After the event, K Teetan advised the intention was to hold a more forward position but after jumping only fairly and his mount being crowded near the 1600 Metres it settled further back in the field than intended.
11 8 SKY HEART (J092) H Bowman After the event, H Bowman reported that his mount blundered near the 1200 Metres and he was not then satisfied with its action thereafter. He added after placing SKY HEART under pressure in the early part of the Home Straight, when he was concerned that his mount was not responding and there may be something amiss with SKY HEART, he then eased it down from the event over the final 300 Metres. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The Stewards determined that before being allowed to race again, SKY HEART will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination which must include additional diagnostic assessments.
12 9 LIVEANDLETLIVE (K156) Y L Chung (-3) After the event, Y L Chung advised that his mount was disadvantaged by being pressured in the lead by PRAY FOR MIR and as a result did not finish the race off when asked for an effort in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
6 10 WINNING WING (K129) H T Mo (-2) When questioned, H T Mo stated that his instructions were to hold a handy position with cover. He said in the early stages his mount was hampered when PACKING HURRICANE shifted out slightly which resulted in WINNING WING settling further back than intended. When questioned regarding his riding in the Home Straight, H T Mo stated that near the 400 Metres he endeavoured to obtain clear running between PACKING HURRICANE and SOLID WIN, however, when SOLID WIN shifted in slightly, he was obliged to check his mount near the 300 Metres when disappointed for this run. He added near the 200 Metres he then directed his mount to the outside of SOLID WIN but again was obliged to check his mount passing the 200 Metres which resulted in WINNING WING losing significant momentum and becoming unbalanced before being able to obtain clear running near the 100 Metres where it finished the race off reasonably well. The Stewards advised Jockey Mo that in the early part of the Home Straight he had been positioned too close to the heels of PACKING HURRICANE and he should ride his mounts with better judgement in future. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Sent for sampling post-race.
1 11 PACKING TURBINE (J470) A Atzeni Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event. Sent for sampling post-race.
7 12 SOLID WIN (J225) H Bentley Jumped only fairly. After the 1600 Metres was steadied to avoid WINNING WING.
13 13 STELLAR GRANDE (J189) B Thompson No report.
8 14 MIDORI GIANT (K095) M F Poon For some distance near the 1600 Metres raced tight to the inside of PACKING TURBINE.
JOY OF SPRING (H383) A Badel Withdrawn on 20.3.25 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right fore) and replaced by Standby Declared Starter SKY HEART. Before being allowed to race again, JOY OF SPRING will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
