R Kingscote reported that the pre-race plans were to take up a forward position, however, was unable to do so after the incident at the start.

9 11 GLORY CLOUD (H320) 1 A Badel Near the 700 Metres was eased to avoid the heels of HINOKAMI KAGURA which also was eased to avoid the heels of HERBAL STAR which shifted in when laying in despite the efforts of its rider M Guyon. In all the circumstances no further action was taken. A Badel reported that his mount travelled well in the early stages, however, after suffering interference near the 700 Metres his mount failed to travel well after that. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
1 12 KING DANCE (K157) 6 A Atzeni After passing the 300 Metres was disappointed for clear running between NATURAL HIGH and GLACIATED before shifting back to the inside of NATURAL HIGH to obtain clear running passing the 200 Metres. Sent for sampling post-race.
FLOWING RICHES (K293) E C W Wong (-5) Withdrawn on 7.2.26 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (swollen left front leg) and replaced by Standby Declared Starter ZOUPER FELLOW. Before being allowed to race again, FLOWING RICHES will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

D B McMonagle reported that his mount never travelled at any stage throughout the event and did not feel comfortable on today’s track surface. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of TOP TIME was considered disappointing as compared to its previous race starts. Before being allowed to race again, TOP TIME will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

A Atzeni reported that after his mount being held up in the early part of the Home Straight, in his opinion, is a horse that requires time to build momentum and was unable to respond to his riding in a short period of time once clear. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

1 11 GOOD CHAP (J499) 10 A Atzeni A short distance after the start became unbalanced when crowded for room between DAY DAY VICTORY and SPEEDY SMARTIE which shifted in despite the efforts of its rider. Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event. Sent for sampling post-race.
4 12 JUICY DRAGON (K405) 7 C Y Ho Taken wider over the concluding stages by ONE MAN SHOW which was taken out by SPEEDY SMARTIE. As a result C Y Ho was unable to ride his mount out fully to the winning post when awkwardly placed on the heels of GOOD CHAP.

11 3 FREE PONY (K229) 3 M L Yeung M L Yeung reported that, in his opinion, his mount failed to run out the 1400 Metres of today’s event. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
14 4 STRATHPEFFER (H095) 11 L Hewitson L Hewitson could not offer any excuse for his mount’s disappointing performance. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race revealed that the horse was displaying an irregular heart rhythm. Before being allowed to race again, STRATHPEFFER will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

5 6 BEAUTY VIVA (K155) 7 H Bowman After being slow to begin was then crowded for room between ALL ROUND WINNER and STAR FIGURE which was taken in by BULL ATTITUDE after being bumped on the hindquarters by BLOSSOMY.
4 7 FLYING KNIGHT (K370) 2 D B McMonagle After passing the 300 Metres was checked when disappointed for clear running between ALL ROUND WINNER and FREE PONY (M L Yeung) which shifted out under pressure. In assessing the incident the Stewards were not comfortably satisfied that FLYING KNIGHT had established clear running between both horses before FREE PONY shifted out. Nevertheless M L Yeung was advised to exercise more care to prevent his mounts from shifting ground when they are under pressure.
7 8 BLOSSOMY (L037) 10 J Orman From the 500 Metres was unable to improve its position when held up for clear running in the early part of the Home Straight and continued to have difficulty gaining clear running thereafter until near the 100 Metres.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Trainer D A Hayes was fined the sum of $5,000 for breaching the Track Work Regulations as a result of MY MARS (L301) wearing the incorrect saddle cloth number during Conghua track work on Sunday, 8 February 2026. MY MARS worked on the Small All Weather Track wearing saddle cloth number L130, the allocated saddle cloth for SUPREME FEELING. SUPREME FEELING only conducted track work in the trotting ring wearing its correct saddle cloth number.

4. Whip Rule Offences – 4 February 2026 Happy Valley Racemeeting

The following jockeys were found to be in breach of Rule 100(3)(ii)(a) for using the whip on consecutive occasions:-

J Orman (YOUNG BRAVO) was reprimanded for using his whip forward of the saddle in a forehand manner on two occasions near the 150 Metres
Race 9 (413)
L Ferraris (URANUS STAR) was reprimanded in relation to using his whip in a manner where the hand holding the whip was above shoulder height near the 150 Metres
