A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of COMMANDING MISSILE, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, COMMANDING MISSILE will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

When questioned Apprentice P N Wong stated that her instructions were to lead if circumstances permitted. She said TOURBILLON PRINCE jumped only fairly and she then rode it along to comply with her instructions. She said when positioned to the inside of DEFINITIVE in the early stages she was reluctant to continue to urge her mount forward as she was concerned that TOURBILLON PRINCE may commence to race keenly and for this reason she held her mount together and allowed DEFINITIVE to cross in the early stages. After considering her explanation and taking into account the sectional times of the race which showed the early and middle stages were run outside of standard time, Apprentice Wong was advised that, in the opinion of the Stewards, she had made an error of judgement in that she did not ride her mount in a more decisive manner to comply with her instructions to lead. Trainer T P Yung confirmed the instructions issued.

Approaching the 200 Metres SUPREME AGILITY was again held up for clear running between TOURBILLON PRINCE and DEFINITIVE which was giving ground. As a result SUPREME AGILITY could not be ridden out for the remainder of the event.
4 11 MAGNIFICENT NINE (H433) A Badel Raced keenly in the early stages.
13 12 CHING (G380) M F Poon Bumped near the 700 Metres. After the event M F Poon reported that his mount raced very wide and without cover for the majority of the event and near the 200 Metres became unbalanced and did not finish the race off thereafter. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
8 13 MEGA FORCE (K200) K C Leung Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
2 14 MORGAN SUCCESS (K203) L Hewitson On jumping bumped with DEFINITIVE and became unbalanced. Sent for sampling post-race.
THE BEST PEACH (H139) B Thompson Withdrawn on 16.5.25 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left fore). Before being allowed to race again, THE BEST PEACH will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

General

After the running of Race 1, the track classification for the turf course was officially changed from "Good” to "Good to Firm”. This change in the opinion of the Stewards should be recorded as being retrospective. As a consequence of this, the official results will show Race 1 being run on a track rated "Good to Firm”.
