Racing Incident Report

K C Leung was fined the sum of $2,000 for presenting himself to weigh out on APACHE PASS in the incorrect colours.
On arrival at the Start, it was noted that BEAR SLAM had lost its left front plate. This plate was refitted. BEAR SLAM was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race.
PARTY EVERYDAY shifted out at the start and bumped CROSSFORD.
ELITE PATCH and HARMONY SPIRIT bumped on jumping.
RIGHTEOUS DOCTRINE began only fairly.
From the outside barrier, SUPER WIN DRAGON was steadied and shifted across behind runners in the early stages to obtain cover.
From a wide barrier, HARMONY SPIRIT was also steadied in the early stages to obtain cover.
Approaching the 1200 Metres, BEAR SLAM and APACHE PASS raced tight. After this, APACHE PASS lay out.
After the 1100 Metres, ELITE PATCH was left racing wide and without cover.
Passing the 500 Metres, CROSSFORD and ELITE PATCH raced tight and bumped as CROSSFORD attempted to improve to the outside of APACHE PASS which got its head on the side and lay out. This resulted in CROSSFORD being very awkwardly placed close to the heels of APACHE PASS near the 450 Metres when unable to improve between that horse and ELITE PATCH. Then near the 400 Metres, CROSSFORD (Z Purton) was directed to the inside of APACHE PASS, resulting in BEAR SLAM, which was laying out towards the heels of CROSSFORD, being checked when crowded for room between that horse and SUPER WIN DRAGON which was racing tight outside PARTY EVERYDAY which shifted to the outside of GOLD COMET. To relieve the tightening to BEAR SLAM, CROSSFORD was shifted out abruptly, resulting in CROSSFORD again being checked away from the heels of APACHE PASS. Whilst the Stewards were of the opinion that there were a number of factors which contributed to this incident, Z Purton was nonetheless told to ensure that he exercises more care when shifting ground in similar circumstances.
PARTY EVERYDAY lay out under pressure in the Straight.
A veterinary inspection of CROSSFORD and SKYEY SUPREME immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
ULTRA EXPRESS and ELITE PATCH were sent for sampling.
