Racing Incident Report

GOOD RUNNER was withdrawn on 30.9.22 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (heart irregularity) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter SOARING TOWER (K C Leung). Before being allowed to race again, GOOD RUNNER will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
GLORY BO BO, which brushed a rail whilst saddling, was examined by the Veterinary Officer on arrival at the Start and passed suitable to race.
After being loaded into the barriers, MIRACULOUS HONOUR became fractious, reared and got both front legs over into the adjoining stall. MIRACULOUS HONOUR was removed from the barriers and examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was not suitable to race. Accordingly, MIRACULOUS HONOUR was withdrawn by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice. Before being allowed to race again, MIRACULOUS HONOUR will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
CHARMING STEED stumbled at the start, shifted out and hampered WE ARE HERO.
From wide barriers, SOARING TOWER and SNOWALOT were shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Approaching the 1100 Metres, ONE VOICE raced tight inside SON PAK FU which got its head on the side and lay in away from CHARMING STEED. SON PAK FU was then shifted out to relieve the crowding to ONE VOICE and in doing so bumped the hindquarters of CHARMING STEED which became unbalanced.
Passing the 1050 Metres, SUCCESS FIGHTER shifted out and was awkwardly placed inside SON PAK FU which continued to lay in away from CHARMING STEED. SUCCESS FIGHTER was then awkwardly placed outside the heels of BEAUTY TYCOON passing the 1000 Metres.
After the 1000 Metres, CHARMING STEED was steadied to obtain cover behind SON PAK FU.
After the 500 Metres, SON PAK FU raced tight outside SUCCESS FIGHTER which shifted to the outside of BEAUTY TYCOON to obtain clear running. Then approaching the 400 Metres, SUCCESS FIGHTER was bumped by SON PAK FU which shifted in. SUCCESS FIGHTER and SON PAK FU again raced tight approaching the 300 Metres.
WE ARE HERO lay out rounding the Home Turn.
SNOWALOT was held up for clear running from passing the 300 Metres until approaching the 200 Metres at which time SNOWALOT was shifted to the outside of WE ARE HERO to obtain clear running.
After the race, an endoscopic examination was conducted on GLORY BO BO at the request of Trainer C S Shum. The Veterinary Surgeon said this examination showed a substantial amount of mucus in the horse’s trachea.
A veterinary inspection of WE ARE HERO immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
BEAUTY TYCOON and ONE VOICE were sent for sampling.
