Racing Incident Report

DRAGON’S LUCK jumped awkwardly, made heavy contact with the left side of its barrier and lost ground.
JOYFUL HUNTER, which was laying on the left side of its barrier, jumped awkwardly. JOYFUL HUNTER then commenced to race keenly in the early stages and near the 1000 Metres got its head up when being steadied away from the heels of FUN N GLORY.
CHATEAU was slow to begin and then from the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
LUCKY ENCOUNTER was held up for clear running on straightening behind SUPER FORTUNE and then near the 350 Metres made contact with CALIFORNIA VANES when improving into a narrow run between SUPER FORTUNE and CALIFORNIA VANES.
From the 400 Metres until the 300 Metres, JOYFUL HUNTER was held up for clear running behind GREENWICH. JOYFUL HUNTER was then shifted to the inside of GREENWICH and improved into a narrow run between GREENWICH and CALIFORNIA VANES after the 200 Metres and then raced tight to the inside of GREENWICH for some distance near the 100 Metres.
Passing the 300 Metres, DRAGON’S LUCK was shifted to the inside of LUCKY ENCOUNTER to secure clear running.
A veterinary inspection of FUN N GLORY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
JOYFUL HUNTER, LUCKY ENCOUNTER and SUPER FORTUNE were sent for sampling.
<20/9/2023 17 September 2023 Sha Tin Racemeeting – Race 7 (25)> K Teetan, rider of LUCKY ENCOUNTER, was warned, under the provisions of Stewards’ Instruction 22(3), for raising his whip arm above shoulder height, when riding out LUCKY ENCOUNTER.
