Racing Incident Report

OWNERS’ STAR was slow to begin.
From a wide barrier, LEATHER MASTER was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
SUPERB DADDY (K Teetan) was unable to improve its position from the 600 Metres when held up before being shifted to the outside of MIGHTY STAR near the 500 Metres to obtain clear running. After the race, K Teetan explained that his mount was not suited by the slow early pace of today’s race. A veterinary inspection of SUPERB DADDY immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of mucus in its trachea and also found the horse to be a "roarer” which had previously been reported.
MIGHTY STAR raced wide and without cover throughout the race.
After the race, H Bowman (LOYAL AMBITION) explained that he was instructed to ride his mount where comfortable, however, was not suited by the slow early pace of the race. Trainer C Fownes confirmed the instructions issued. A veterinary inspection of LOYAL AMBITION immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
SPLENDID STAR and JOYFUL CHAMPION were sent for sampling.
<3/10/2023 Additional Veterinary Reports from 1 October 2023 Race Meeting>The Veterinary Surgeon reported that OWNERS’ STAR was lame in its left front leg on the morning after racing. Before being allowed to race again, OWNERS’ STAR will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
