10 H273  STERLING WONGCHOY  08/09/2024   5  STERLING WONGCHOY (H273) from the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Held up for clear running near the 400M. When questioned regarding the tactics adopted on the Home Turn and the reason he improved to the inside of a runner, rider stated that whilst his mount was travelling reasonably well at that point, he elected to improve to the inside of that runner to save ground on the Home Turn and also to provide his mount with some confidence improving between runners. He said his decision to shift in was also influenced by the fact that that would have allowed him to follow another runner into the event, a horse he had considered to be a fancied runner. The Stewards considered the tactics adopted by rider in the circumstances were reasonable - Race 005.
