After the event, rider stated that his mount, which was having its first race start, hung out near the 800M when positioned to the inside of a runner and as result was checked. Racing manners were considered unacceptable. Has since performed to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial around a bend in Hong Kong - Race 428.
13 J238  AMAZING GALAXY  06/04/2025   564  AMAZING GALAXY (J238) when questioned, rider stated that from a more favourable barrier draw he was asked to hold an on-pace position preferably with cover. He said after commencing well his mount showed sufficient pace to race in a position outside the lead but raced keenly through the early and middle stages. He added over the concluding stages his mount changed stride and shifted ground which resulted in him becoming unbalanced in the saddle and not being able to ride his mount out to the finish of the event - Race 564.

1 K007  SPIRIT OF PEACE  23/03/2025   526  SPIRIT OF PEACE (K007) as the start was effected knuckled over badly, resulting in its rider becoming badly unbalanced in the saddle and the horse losing significant ground. As the horse had finished 3rd in the event, acting under the provisions of Rule 12(19) which says no horse which is declared 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th shall be so declared a non-runner, the Stewards could not consider the horse had been denied a fair start and weighed-in was declared on the numbers semaphored by the Judge. Has since performed to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial - Race 526.
2 H407  KING OBERON  06/04/2025   564  KING OBERON (H407) near the 950M got its head up when being steadied away from a runner. Near the 600M was steadied when racing keenly. When questioned, rider stated that he was instructed to take up a midfield position with cover and when caught wide in the early stages he was obliged to settle further back in the field to obtain cover. When questioned regarding his riding in the Home Straight rider stated that when positioned behind a runner he was unable to test his mount approaching the 400M when that runner shifted out. He added as that runner was then inclined to shift ground, between the 400M and the 250M he was unable to fully test his mount until that runner shifted out near the 250M where he was able to obtain clear running to its inside – Race 564.
