After the event rider stated that the only explanation he could offer for the performance was that his mount did not appreciate racing in amongst other horses. Post-race vet inspection did not show any significant findings - Race 654.

4 K015  NAMJONG KINGDOM  09/03/2025   488  NAMJONG KINGDOM (K015) eased near the 1100M when crowded. When giving ground near the 400M was eased when momentarily crowded. After the event, rider stated that from a wide barrier he was given the option of obtaining a more forward position. He said when his mount commenced well he elected to allow the horse to stride forward and race towards the lead. Post-race vet inspection did not show any significant findings. Finished tailed out and performance was considered unacceptable. Has since performed to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and passed an official vet exam - Race 488.
5 K098  FORTUNE BOY  04/05/2025   644  FORTUNE BOY (K098) from a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. For some distance near the 300M had difficulty obtaining clear running and made contact with a runner when obtaining a narrow run - Race 644.
6 H376  MISTER DAPPER  20/04/2025   604  MISTER DAPPER (H376) when questioned rider stated that from the outside barrier the instructions were to hold an on-pace position. He said in the early stages he elected to remain racing wide so that he could assess if there was an opportunity to obtain a position in a three wide line with cover. He said near the 1100M when there was no opportunity to obtain cover he continued forward on his mount and as a result was obliged to make further use of his mount making the first turn to cross a runner to avoid racing wide. When questioned if there was an opportunity to remain racing to the outside of another runner rather than continuing forward of that runner, rider stated that as he was advised by trainer that the horse is one-paced, when that runner appeared to be under pressure he allowed his mount to continue to go forward and cross that runner to obtain a position on the rail so as to avoid holding his mount’s momentum. He added after crossing to the rail he continued to ride his mount along from the 500M in order to encourage the horse to finish the race off strongly. Trainer confirmed the instructions issued and advised that having regard to the early stages of the event being run inside of standard time he felt that there was a brief opportunity for rider to ride his mount with more patience from the 600M. After considering all the evidence the Stewards advised rider that, in their opinion, he had made an error of judgement from the 600M in continuing to ride his mount forward having regard to the use he had to make of the horse throughout the early and middle stages to obtain his position outside the lead - Race 604.
