4 BULLDOZER (CG062) D Whyte B Broke with them, settled just behind early pace, 2-wide 2-3Ls away in mid-section, allowed to stride forward from 500 M, came with good run 3-wide rounding home turn, sprinted hard down centre of track to claim them.
12 WINE WIN (CG018) W M Lai B Fast into stride, mustered good speed to take up running, kept rolling in front at good speed, held 1L advantage on turn, rallied well to be 2Ls clear in straight, kept giving last 200 M to narrowly go down.
3 INVERNESS (CD108) Y T Cheng SR/TT Out well, matched speed to be prominent early, had run of race behind leader thereafter (bumped rail 600 M), travelled well to turn, gained good split and challenged strongly to fight out finish. Better effort.
1 LUCKY WINNER (CE124) C W Wong TT Jumped with them, hard ridden to muster speed, settled further back than usual in midfield, raced 2-wide 4Ls away in mid-section, tracked nicely 3-wide into straight, closed race off well to make frame.
5 SIAMERIC TE SPECSO (CE171) B Prebble TT1 Broke with them, taken back from outside alley, raced 2-wide at tail 10Ls away, pushed along to hold spot in mid-section, still well back on turning, motored home last 200 M to just miss frame. Big run. (See Racing Incidents.)
9 SPEED FIGHTER (CD355) H W Lai SR Fastest into stride, pushed forward from awkward alley to be outside leader early, restrained to race 1 out 1 back in mid-section, 2Ls away in traffic on turning, gained split and closed race off reasonably without threatening winner.
6 GENERAL SPEEDEE (CG193) A Delpech -- Jumped fairly, allowed to relax, settled down 4Ls away on rails, enjoyed soft run in mid-section, travelled evenly on turn, forced to shift when asked to pick up in straight, stuck to task to be not beaten far. (Saddle shifted early.)
7 KIMBO KID (CC379) M W Leung PC- Began awkwardly, urged along to go forward, unable to slot in, trapped 3 and 4-wide with no cover 4-5Ls away early, always working and continued on with 4-wide run on turn, couldn't mount challenge and was one-paced in straight.
2 GRAND FIGHTER (CA225) K L Chui B Average to begin, niggled to hold spot, raced worse than midfield on rails 6-7Ls from pace, still well back on turn, followed rails in straight and made up some late ground from impossible position.
11 RED STORM RISING (CE007) C Munce B1 Bounded in air and lost ground, made use of to hold position, raced on rails at rear 8-9Ls from leaders, pushed along to make ground when well back on turn, came between them in straight making a little ground at same pace.
10 FINANCIAL KID (CE303) G Schofield -- Broke evenly, lacked early speed and settled down in rearward spot, raced 2-wide 6-7L away in middle stages, used little to turn, well back and hard ridden in straight, lacked turn of foot and only plugged to line.
8 PLEZAYRE (CG116) O Doleuze TT Jumped well, showed speed to press on wide to eventually sit outside leader (did some work), niggled along at leaders girth approaching turn, flat out into straight, didn't finish off and dropped out. (Never comfortable.)
