2 4 KINGS FALCON (CJ185) D Beadman H Began with rest, ended up 4 to 5Ls away on rails, not used in middle stages, same margin down on turn, held up to 250 M, dashed well when clear but winner had gained momentum. Kept on soundly for 2nd.
3 3 GALLANT LION (CG243) O Doleuze H Standard beginning, ended up a little close the normal 3 to 4Ls away on rails, had a ground saving trip throughout, didn't see daylight until 200 M and closed off nicely for placing.
4 7 UNIQUE JEWELLERY (CH196) D Whyte -- Fastest out, worked early section taking up lead, backed off tempo 1L clear on bend, kicked on turning, held off rivals to 200 M but condition gave out late.
5 10 WHATABOB (CD213) C W Wong B-/SR1/TT- Began with them, drove through to race on the back of leader, had a far run to bend, took inside runs turning, held ground evenly without threatening in straight.
6 1 NEVER LOOK BACK (CJ043) Z Purton B- Average jump, ended up in midfield 4Ls off pace, enjoyed a reasonable run in mid-section, improved into clear running on turning, looked a chance to 200 M before run ended.
7 2 TIBER (CD155) E Saint-Martin XB/TT Amongst first few to break, drove forward to hold a close up spot 2 wide behind leaders, same margin back at 400 M, had clear running from top of straight but peaked on efforts at 200 M.
8 8 YOUNG HERO (CH071) M L Yeung -- No real pace, drifted back to rear 3 wide behind midfield 5Ls away, had cover but made to travel over extra ground, eased wide at 400 M, just plugged away down middle in straight.
9 5 SILVER SUN (CE126) K C Leung -- Out with rest, posted 3 wide with a trail in midfield 4Ls back, did share of work to bend, improved 4 wide passing 500 M, struggled to pick up and couldn't make an impression in run to line.
10 6 OURAJA (CG214) B Prebble B Began well, assumed a more prominent role outside the leader, did share of work to get there, aided when pace slackened on circle, right there on turning, lacked required response and dropped out tamely. (See Racing Incidents.)
11 11 BLESSING (CJ337) Y T Cheng -- Ordinary getaway, settled closer to rear 6Ls from front, raced keenly throughout, rear last on turning, only passed tired horses in run to line.
12 14 SOUTH DAKOTA (CJ166) K L Chui XB/TT Tardy to begin, ended up behind midfield 4 to 5Ls from leaders, no excuses in middle stages held up at 300 M, lacked a response when clear and just battled away in straight.
13 13 ELFHELM (CC342) C K Tong B Taken back from an awkward alley, raced 3 wide 6Ls back, had trail but forced to cover ground. Still well back on turning, made no serious progress at business end.
14 12 TOWERING FEELING (CG262) W M Lai TT Broke nicely, pressed forward however caught without cover 3 wide 2Ls back, had a hard run to turn, soon faded in straight.
