5 BEST FRIEND (CH240) E Saint-Martin B Held up patiently behind midfield, travelled along the rail 4 to 5Ls behind leader, always looked comfortable, short of room early in straight but ran on strongly once a gap opened up near 200 M, weaved through horses to win.
11 SPECIAL DAYS (CH236) F Coetzee -- Awkwardly away, moved forward gradually to race one out one back from leader, enjoyed the slow sectionals, kept on strongly in straight, hit front 250 M, looked a winner but was caught close home.
6 HAIL THE STORM (CE125) J Victoire V Away with them, driven forward to race prominently behind leaders, pressed on rounding home turn, dug deep inside 200 M to finish a close 3rd.
4 GEM OF CHIU TON (CJ188) Y T Cheng TT Jumped well, taken to a position better than midfield about 3Ls back, 3-wide and no cover turning home, came with his challenge 350 M out, quickened up nicely to take a creditable 4th, pulled well clear from the rest.
2 MEDICO (CH075) W C Marwing -- Overcame a wide barrier to settle in a handy position close to the pace, ready to strike going into straight, ran on steadily but effort just flattened out inside 100 M.
8 GREAT LAND'S STAR (CJ294) C K Tong XB Began in line, crossed to fence and led field at a slow tempo, had 1L advantage coming off the bend, headed near 250 M, faded gradually in run to line.
9 SLEEP WELL (CK036) K T Yeung -- Drawn low, had a ground-saving trip along the rail in mid-division, did little in running, eased out approaching home straight, delivered a one-paced finish to line.
1 FEARLESS (CH301) D Whyte B Taken back on jumping, taken up a spot behind midfield 4 to 5Ls behind leader, 3-wide turning for home, picked up fairly on straightening, no extra inside 100 M.
3 WIN PRACTITIONER (CG180) Z Purton B- In rear, difficult to settle down the back straight, hampered by the slow pace, had plenty to do turning in, couldn't pick up instantly on straightening but stayed on OK towards the finish.
7 BROM BROM (CJ338) H W Lai B- Reasonable jump, drifted back to the rear trailing 6Ls behind, peeled out to challenge approaching home straight, gave limited response and could pass tired runners only.
12 FLYING TAMARI (CG151) M L Yeung -- Well enough away, eased off in search of cover, gradually shuffled back towards the rear, forced wide on turning and struggled early in straight. (Jockey questioned about his ride.)
10 ROYAL PEGASUS (CK103) M Du Plessis -- Standard break, ran a shade keen early, travelled in mid-division 2-deep from the fence with cover, under pressure rounding the bend, found nothing in straight and gave ground from 300 M.
