Racing Incident Report

VICTORY DRUM jumped awkwardly with its head up, shifted out and bumped SIR GALWAY. Approaching and rounding the Home Turn, MY HEART, which was travelling wide and without cover, hung out. Just before straightening, HONG KONG STALLION became unbalanced when awkward on the hindquarters of FORTUNE PRIZES. F Coetzee (CHIRAG) explained he had been instructed by the Trainer if possible to ride the horse somewhere about midfield. He said after being boxed CHIRAG became restless and then when the gates opened the horse bounded in the air and got further back than planned. He said to have ridden the horse where he was instructed would have meant riding along more than it was in the best interests of the horse and in the circumstances he elected to travel where it was comfortable and this was in a position towards the rear. The explanations submitted by F Coetzee tonight were accepted. JUST IN TIME was sent for clinical veterinary examination and routine testing.
