Racing Incident Report
ADMIRAL jumped very awkwardly with its head up, was further inconvenienced by SIR TIMAH which on leaving the gates shifted in abruptly, then over the concluding stages hung out. SPRING LOVE was slowly away. On jumping, CHEVAL D'OR and SEA PEARL bumped. About the 1400 Metres, ALBELA accidentally clipped the heels of PRIME VAIN and knuckled. Approaching and rounding the Home Turn, ALBELA hung in, at about the 500 Metres shifted ground slightly and brushed the shoulder of SPRING LOVE which itself shifted ground, struck the running rail, then came out abruptly, clipped the heels of ALBELA and nearly fell. When SPRING LOVE nearly fell, it shifted out and as a consequence THE RICH MAN was carried out onto the heels of CHEVAL D'OR, got its head up and was checked. Despite the severity of the interference that occurred, the Stewards formed the opinion that it was accidental and no action was taken. After being severely checked near the 500 Metres, SPRING LOVE was not ridden out in the Straight. GRAND FIGHTER was sent for clinical veterinary examination and routine testing. After the race, it was noted that PRIME VAIN had sustained a laceration to its off side hind coronet band.
