Racing Incident Report

BILLION WIN was withdrawn on 19.10.01 on veterinary grounds (off fore suspensory ligament injury) and replaced by Standby Declared Starter CARACOLER (R Fradd). Before racing again, BILLION WIN will have to undergo an official veterinary examination. Whilst being saddled, CARACOLER kicked out and made contact with the back wall with both hind legs. Before being presented in the parade, CARACOLER was trotted up and examined by the Veterinary Surgeon who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. After being boxed, CARACOLER became fractious and kicked out. The horse momentarily had its off side hind leg caught over a side partition. CARACOLER was released from the gates, trotted up and examined by the Veterinary Surgeon who said in his opinion the horse was suitable to race. IDOL, which was restless in the stall, was slowly away. INDUSTRIAL PIONEER missed the start. For a short distance near the 300 Metres, RED SUN was held up behind MAN OF HONOUR which was giving ground and inside RED PEPPER. INDUSTRIAL PIONEER was sent for clinical veterinary examination and routine testing. After the race, the Veterinary Surgeon said INDUSTRIAL PIONEER was lame in its off side front leg. Before racing again, INDUSTRIAL PIONEER will be required to pass an official veterinary examination.
