Racing Incident Report

IMPRESSIONIST was a little slowly away and was then rather severely hampered by INDUBITABLY BLISS which was taken out abruptly by ARROGANCE. On leaving the gates, BACCURA and FORWOOD were crowded for room between TRIUMPHANT MASTER and ETERNAL FUN, both of which shifted ground. Just after straightening, SILENT PARTNER was steadied and shifted out to avoid ARROGANCE which was giving ground. W C Marwing (ALL THE BEST) explained when he won on the horse on 14 September 2002, it had raced in blinkers. He said for the horse's next run, he was under suspension and on that occasion ALL THE BEST over-raced and it was decided to remove the blinkers in the hope the horse would settle better in the run. He said tonight ALL THE BEST left the gates satisfactorily, travelled as he hoped it would, but at about the 1000 Metres commenced to give ground and was generally very disappointing. He was of the view ALL THE BEST, which has previously won on rain affected conditions, was comfortable in the going tonight. ALL THE BEST, RUN AND WIN and MASTER YING were sent for sampling. After the race, it was reported that ALL THE BEST had sustained a laceration to its left hind leg.
