Racing Incident Report
On jumping, BELLAGIO shifted out abruptly and bumped UNIVERSAL CHARGER. From the outside gate, MANY HAPPY RETURNS was immediately steadied and taken across behind other runners to a position closer to the rail but at the rear. On jumping, NON SEQUITUR, which was being steadied to take up a rearward position, threw its head about. About the 1200 Metres, KING LION shifted out away from GOLDEN DUKE, this inconvenienced COMMON PLACE which from an outside gate was covering a lot of ground and after this incident continued to race wide without any cover. For some distance about the 1000 Metres, BELLAGIO was awkwardly placed close to the heels of HOW FLUKE. Then again near the 400 Metres, BELLAGIO was awkward when close to the heels of HOW FLUKE and tight inside KING LION which was giving ground. After the 200 Metres, W C Marwing (COME SEE YOU) had the whip knocked from his hand by the whip of W M Lai (LONGMARK). After the 100 Metres, RESOURCEFUL PRINCE was crowded for room and MANY HAPPY RETURNS unbalanced when GOLDEN DUKE (E Saint-Martin) shifted in when not clear. E Saint-Martin was severely reprimanded and told in similar circumstances he must stop riding and straighten.
