Racing Incident Report

SPECTACULAR HIT was slow to begin and shortly afterwards was bumped by LAZY BUDDIES which shifted in. On jumping, THE WORLD OF LOVE was bumped by PREMIER EXPRESS which shifted in. Also on jumping, TRIUMPH bounded in the air and lost ground. SHARE THE FUN began awkwardly. In the early stages, BEAUTY PLUS hung in. At the 1000 Metres, BABY KING became badly unbalanced and lost ground when racing inside THOUSANDS VICTORY. Near the 100 Metres, DANEPRINT was shifted to the inside of PREMIER EXPRESS to find clear running. Then over the concluding stages, DANEPRINT was awkwardly placed inside the heels of PREMIER EXPRESS which was shifting in and because of this was not ridden out to the line. In the Straight, THOUSANDS VICTORY hung out. W M Lai (LAZY BUDDIES) said the horse became unbalanced at the 600 Metres when hanging out. He said early in the Straight he rode LAZY BUDDIES hands and heels in an endeavour to ensure it was properly balanced, then after the 300 Metres struck the horse with the whip on two occasions and while it did respond to his riding, again became unbalanced. He said because of this he put the whip away and rode LAZY BUDDIES out hands and heels over the final 200 Metres. W M Lai was told his riding in the Straight had come under notice and in future he was to ensure he fully tested all his mounts where possible. EVEREST was sent for a clinical veterinary examination. After the race, EVEREST was examined by the Veterinary Officer. No abnormalities were detected. THE WORLD OF LOVE and TRIUMPH were sent for sampling.
