Racing Incident Report

SNOWSTORM was a little slow to begin. FERRULE was slow to begin. Shortly after the start, SNOWSTORM and TRIPLE EXPRESSO were checked when crowded for room between THANK HEAVENS and SMART WINNER which after beginning awkwardly shifted out abruptly. Apprentice C K Tong (GOLCONDA) was advised against the practice of shifting in at an acute angle shortly after the start. Apprentice C K Tong explained he had been instructed to lead on the horse, however, after beginning well and crossing to the fence, the horse raced keenly and because of this went a little quicker than he would have wished in the early and middle stages. VISORHILL, MERIDIAN STAR and FERRULE were sent for sampling.
