Racing Incident Report

SUNNY RIVIERA, EXULTATION and DANDY BUNNY were slow to begin. On jumping, PROFIT DAY and SUPER WONGCHOY bumped. Shortly after the start, JUST TOO GOOD was bumped by TABBRIS which shifted in. Passing the winning post on the first occasion, SUNNY RIVIERA jumped a reflection on the track. After the 1200 Metres, BARFOLD HERO was steadied away from the heels of TABBRIS which steadied in front. Prior to straightening, PROFIT DAY, which was giving ground, was checked when momentarily crowded for room by EXULTATION. After the 300 Metres, GOT IT RIGHT was steadied when momentarily crowded for room between DANDY BUNNY and RED WINNER. Near the 200 Metres, ACME OF SURPRISE was checked when disappointed for running inside TABBRIS (Apprentice K T Yeung). Apprentice K T Yeung was advised in similar circumstances he should stop riding and straighten his mount. For a short distance after this, ACME OF SURPRISE had difficulty obtaining clear running between TABBRIS and EXULTATION. Throughout the race, MEHBOOB THE THIRD raced in a forward position, however, was three wide and without cover. Apprentice P H Lo (MEHBOOB THE THIRD) explained throughout the race C Williams, the rider of ACME OF SURPRISE, who was racing to his inside had been calling to him, therefore he ensured that he did not shift in to prevent causing interference to that horse. He said after the 600 Metres MEHBOOB THE THIRD was inclined to lay out, shifted to a position about four wide and this allowed SUPER WONGCHOY to improve between him and ACME OF SURPRISE which itself shifted in. He said after the 400 Metres MEHBOOB THE THIRD was not travelling well enough to hold SUPER WONGCHOY behind other horses. SUPER WONGCHOY and EXULTATION were sent for sampling. After the race, it was noted PROFIT DAY was bleeding from the mouth.
