Racing Incident Report

CONVERGENCE, DANDY BUNNY and WINNING ATTORNEY were slow to begin. In the early stages, JOYFUL WORLD proved difficult to settle. Near the 900 Metres, WINNING ATTORNEY, which had been racing wide and was going to be left without cover, was steadied and shifted across behind runners to a position close to the rail. After the 900 Metres, HAPPY KID, which was proving difficult to settle, became unbalanced and was steadied when crowded for room between C'EST LA VIE and TELECOM TYCOON (A Marcus) which shifted in. A Marcus was advised to exercise more care. For some distance near the 600 Metres, YACHT MASTER was awkwardly placed close to the heels of JOYFUL WORLD. After the 400 Metres, WINNING ATTORNEY was steadied and shifted in when disappointed for running between YACHT MASTER and CONVERGENCE which shifted out, then after the 200 Metres was again steadied and shifted out when awkwardly placed inside the heels of TABBRIS which was giving ground. At the 200 Metres, HAPPY KID was shifted to the inside of JOYFUL WORLD to continue going forward and then approaching the winning post was steadied and shifted to the inside of TOUCH OF CLASS into clear running. JOYFUL WORLD was sent for a clinical veterinary examination. After the race, JOYFUL WORLD was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said an endoscopic examination showed a significant amount of mucus in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, JOYFUL WORLD will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. TOUCH OF CLASS and TELECOM TYCOON were sent for sampling. The Veterinary Officer reported following the race it was noted MYSTIC SPIRITS was making an abnormal breathing noise. After the race, it was noted TABBRIS had lost its right front plate.
