Racing Incident Report

DANCING BOY and CORNWALL CHIEFS were slow to begin. GREAT SENSATION was a little slow to begin and shortly afterwards was crowded for room between MASTER MARAUDER and CHERISHED. After the 1600 Metres, CHERISHED got its head up when racing tight inside CORNWALL CHIEFS. Near the 300 Metres, LA MERVEILLE was steadied and shifted out when disappointed for running between CHINA CAT and RED BARON which was giving ground. At the 200 Metres, GREAT SENSATION was steadied and shifted to the outside of CORNWALL CHIEFS to continue going forward. After the 200 Metres when being ridden out, DANCING BOY became unbalanced and shifted in abruptly. Over the concluding stages, TRIUMPH hung out. In the Straight, STEP FORWARD hung out, proved difficult to ride and near the 200 Metres was steadied when awkwardly placed close to the heels of TUSITALA and outside LA MERVEILLE which shifted out slightly. Throughout the race, TUSITALA raced wide and without cover. G Mossé (STEP FORWARD) explained near the 1400 Metres his mount got its head up when he was endeavouring to take it back from a position between CORNWALL CHIEFS and TRIUMPH in an attempt to get STEP FORWARD to settle. RED BARON, which performed poorly, was sent for a clinical veterinary examination and sampling. After the race, RED BARON was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said an endoscopic examination showed a significant amount of mucus in the horse's trachea. Before being permitted to race again, RED BARON will have to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. TUSITALA was sent for a clinical veterinary examination. A veterinary examination of TUSITALA after the race did not show any significant findings. DONGGUAN VICTORY and TRIUMPH were sent for sampling.
