Racing Incident Report
Prior to being presented in the saddling stalls, SPINNING CITY had ad adjustment made to its left hind plate. The horse was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said it was suitable to race. After being boxed, SUMMERVILLE POWER became very fractious and reared on a number of occasions. Before being allowed to race again, SUMMERVILLE POWER will have to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial. Passing the winning post on the first occasion, FAVOURITE EXPRESS was steadied when crowded for room inside GALLANT FALCON. Passing the 200 Metres, THOUSAND WINS and SUCCESSFUL SPIRIT bumped. WEALTHY shifted out when being ridden out in the Straight. When questioned regarding the improved performance of VICTORY MARBLE today in relation to its last start which was on the All Weather Track, Mr S Woods, the trainer of the horse, said on that occasion the horse was given some chance by the stable, however, when it was unable to obtain the lead it was reluctant to stride out in the kickback. It was pointed out VICTORY MARBLE's All Weather Track form is poor and Mr Woods attributed the performance solely to the surface. He said it is not his intention to race VICTORY MARBLE on the All Weather surface again having consideration for its last start. VICTORY MARBLE and WEALTHY were sent for sampling.
