Racing Incident Report
WINNING KEVIN was withdrawn on 21.3.05 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left fore) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter FORTUNE BOY. Before being allowed to race again, WINNING KEVIN will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. After being boxed, CALIFORNIA BISHOP became fractious and kicked out behind on several occasions. The horse was removed from its stall and examined by the Veterinary Surgeon who said it had abrasions to the right hock and in his opinion was not suitable to race. Acting on this advice, the Stewards ordered the withdrawal of CALIFORNIA BISHOP. Before being allowed to race again, CALIFORNIA BISHOP will have to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. ROMANTIC SYMPHONY was slow to begin. FORTUNE BOY began awkwardly and shifted out. At the 1300 Metres, HAPPY CONTENDER was bumped by CLASSA WIN which shifted out. Making the turn at the 600 Metres, HAPPY CONTENDER hung in. For the major part of the race, FORTUNE BOY hung out, then on straightening shifted out and was checked to avoid the heels of ADD THE FUN which at this time got its head on the side and shifted in abruptly. No action was taken. Near the 200 Metres, HAPPY CONTENDER, which was beginning to close the race off, was checked and shifted out when disappointed for running between MASTERY which shifted in slightly and SHANGHAI KING which shifted out slightly. No action was taken. TABBRIS and ADD THE FUN were sent for sampling.
