Racing Incident Report
KING OF FIELD was withdrawn on 25.6.05 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left fore) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter DANEPRINT (Apprentice C W Wong). Before being allowed to race again, KING OF FIELD will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. JUBILOSO was slow to begin, then shifted in and bumped the hindquarters of CLASSIC KING. On jumping, WINWIN COMBO and CUPID were crowded for room between DANEPRINT and SUPER PEARL, both of which shifted ground. Near the 1400 Metres, MADE IN HONGKONG, which commenced to over-race, shifted out and inconvenienced TREASURE FIELD. After this, MADE IN HONGKONG pulled its way forward. At the 700 Metres, DANEPRINT was checked when crowded for room between TREASURE FIELD which shifted out slightly and SUPER PEARL which was giving ground. No action was taken. At the 300 Metres, LAZY BUDDIES was steadied away from the heels of SPEED OF LIGHT (Apprentice K W Tsui) which at this time shifted to the outside of VICTORY TREASURE into clear running. Apprentice Tsui was advised to exercise greater care. When LAZY BUDDIES steadied, some inconvenience was caused to JUBILOSO. When questioned regarding his riding in the Home Straight, Y T Cheng (WINWIN COMBO) said in the early part of the Straight he shifted out to find clear running. He said after this he rode WINWIN COMBO out hands and heels and on one occasion after the 200 Metres hit the horse down the shoulder with the whip. He said while WINWIN COMBO did make some ground, it did not when placed under pressure quicken sufficiently to give it a chance of running a placing. Y T Cheng was told his riding in the Home Straight had come under notice and he must where possible ensure his mounts are properly tested. TREASURE FIELD was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of TREASURE FIELD after the race did not show any significant findings. VICTORY TREASURE and JUBILOSO were sent for sampling.
