Racing Incident Report

BLOOM BLOOM and PILLOW KING were slow to begin. PHANTOM THIEF began awkwardly. GREAT ACHIEVEMENT began awkwardly, was vigorously ridden in the early stages to improve its position and approaching and passing the winning post on the first occasion shifted in, resulting in FIGHTING MASCOT being tightened for room. MONEY STRONG bounded in the air at the start, made contact with the side of its gate and as a consequence lost ground. Despite being ridden along to improve its position, MONEY STRONG was obliged to race back in the field. PHANTOM THIEF was inclined to over-race in the early and middle stages and then in the Straight gave ground. For some distance in the middle stages, GALLANT KNIGHT over-raced and was awkwardly placed close to the heels of PHANTOM THIEF. Throughout the race, COME SEE YOU was obliged to race wide and without cover and passing the 700 Metres was bumped by GREAT ACHIEVEMENT which shifted out. Making the turn at the 600 Metres, PILLOW KING was awkwardly placed close to the heels of FIGHTING MASCOT which got its head on the side and shifted in. At the entrance to the Straight, GALLANT KNIGHT was steadied when awkwardly placed close to the heels of PHANTOM THIEF. Shortly after entering the Straight, FIGHTING MASCOT shifted out and was steadied away from the heels of COME SEE YOU. Near the 250 Metres, PILLOW KING was steadied off the heels of PHANTOM THIEF which was giving ground. PILLOW KING was then shifted to the outside of that horse to continue going forward. Over about the final 250 Metres, GREAT ACHIEVEMENT lay in and near the 150 Metres bumped the hindquarters of CRYSTAL which then shifted out slightly. MONEY STRONG got its head on the side and hung in when being ridden out in the Straight. Over the concluding stages, FORTUNE SMILES and CRYSTAL raced tight. PHANTOM THIEF was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of PHANTOM THIEF after the race did not show any significant findings. SOUNDS BEST and CRYSTAL were sent for sampling.
