Racing Incident Report

During the preliminary, VINTAGE GOLD dislodged H K Yim, its rider. VINTAGE GOLD was quickly recaptured, mounted and proceeded to the Start. Whilst behind the barriers, VINTAGE GOLD continued to be fractious and when being attempted to be loaded made heavy contact with the running rail. VINTAGE GOLD was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. VINTAGE GOLD then when riderless and attempted to be loaded continued to be fractious. To avoid any unreasonable delay to the start, the Stewards ordered the withdrawal of VINTAGE GOLD. Before being allowed to race again, VINTAGE GOLD will have to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial. After arriving at the Start, it was noted CHATER SILK had lost its left front plate. Prior to being boxed, CHATER SILK was re-plated. SPACE SHUTTLE began awkwardly, then near the 900 Metres lost ground when being steadied away from the heels of JIANG JUN. On jumping, CHATER SILK was crowded for room between KA KA SMART and SUGAR AND SON. In the early stages, JIANG JUN proved difficult to settle, making the turn at the 800 Metres hung out and making the Home Turn again hung out, causing SUPER CHARGE to be carried wider. After the 800 Metres, ROYAL DECREE was steadied away from the heels of SUPER CHARGE. Throughout the race, SUPER CHARGE raced wide and without cover. Also CHATER SILK raced wide and without cover and made the Home Turn awkwardly. FLORAL PEGASUS and SIR ERNESTO were sent for sampling.
