Racing Incident Report

With the intention of being ridden in a rearward position from the outside gate, SUPREMACY was immediately steadied and taken across behind runners. CONESTOGA and SUPER FIGHTER were slow to begin. G Mossé (CANNONISE) was found guilty of a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that near the 1100 Metres he failed to take sufficient measures to prevent his mount from shifting out when not clear of BEAUTY PLUS, causing that horse to be crowded for room, become unbalanced, shift out and bump DRAGON AND GOLD which in turn caused crowding on its outside to SANZIRO and TOP SCORER. As a result of this crowding, DRAGON AND GOLD, SANZIRO and TOP SCORER were checked. G Mossé was suspended from riding in races for a period to expire on Monday 20 February 2006 on which day he may resume race riding (2 Hong Kong race days). The commencement of the suspension was deferred until after the Sha Tin racemeeting next Saturday 11 February 2006. In addition, G Mossé was fined $80,000 in lieu of a suspension for a period incorporating 2 further racedays. In the middle stages, TOP SCORER, which was proving very difficult to settle, raced ungenerously when close to the heels of BEAUTY PLUS and tight outside SANZIRO which itself was proving difficult to settle and shifted out away from the heels of KINGSTON MARBLE. SANZIRO continued to prove difficult to settle and at the 600 Metres was shifted out from behind CONESTOGA and carried BEAUTY PLUS wider. Making the turn at the 600 Metres, TOP SCORER, which was racing tight outside AMO which at this time got its head on the side and shifted out, was steadied away from the heels of SANZIRO. AMO continued to hang out making the turn. On straightening, THE WORLD OF LOVE was steadied when awkwardly placed close to the heels of TOP SCORER. Shortly after straightening, ALWAYS WELCOME was disappointed for running inside CONESTOGA while attempting to shift to the outside of CANNONISE. At the 200 Metres, AMO had difficulty obtaining clear running when close to the heels of SANZIRO. Over about the last 50 Metres, THE WORLD OF LOVE, which was closing the race off strongly, was not ridden out when unable to improve between ALWAYS WELCOME and CANNONISE. Also over the final 50 Metres, SUPREMACY, which was closing the race off strongly, was not ridden out when improving close to the heels of CANNONISE. SANZIRO, CONESTOGA and KINGSTON MARBLE were sent for sampling.
