Racing Incident Report

SEVENS HEAVEN began awkwardly and bumped the inside gate of its stall. STRIKE TO WIN bounded in the air at the start and then bumped with CHARMING SPEEDY which after stumbling on jumping shifted out. TRIUMPH began awkwardly. On jumping, DONGGUAN VICTORY got its head up and lost ground. Also on jumping, KING OF SPADES bumped with FEBURO, then shifted ground and made contact with RICH FOR ALL. In the early stages, RED WINE HONEY proved difficult to settle and near the 1100 Metres shifted in slightly and bumped CHARMING SPEEDY which as a result became unbalanced. Making the Home Turn, FEBURO hung out. On straightening, CHARMING SPEEDY was carried wider by RICH FOR ALL which shifted out into clear running. Shortly after the 400 Metres, TSUNAMI was steadied and shifted to the inside of FEBURO to obtain clear running. After this, TSUNAMI hung in badly for the remainder of the race and proved difficult to ride out. Approaching and passing the 300 Metres, SEVENS HEAVEN was held up and unable to improve when racing inside RED WINE HONEY and behind TRIUMPH which was commencing to give ground. Approaching the 200 Metres, PRESENT TREASURE got its head on the side and hung out. Near the 100 Metres, FEBURO shifted out and bumped CHARMING SPEEDY. The performance of DONGGUAN VICTORY, which tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, DONGGUAN VICTORY will have to perform competitively in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. G Schofield (TRAVEL LEADER) explained he had been instructed to ride the horse in a position with cover if possible. He said TRAVEL LEADER bounded in the air at the start, immediately some runners on his inside gained an advantage over him, so he elected to gradually shift across. He said shortly after the start he rode TRAVEL LEADER along, however, the horse did not show speed and therefore he elected to shift across behind runners, however, travelled further back than was anticipated. JUBILOSO and RICH FOR ALL were sent for sampling.
