Racing Incident Report

FLORAL PEGASUS began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped the hindquarters of CAPE PRINCE. As a consequence, FLORAL PEGASUS became unbalanced and lost ground. Shortly after the start, STABLE MAIL was steadied when crowded for room between PACKING ANGEL and AMPLE GAINS. Making the turn at the 1600 Metres, WHATABOB, which was racing wide and without cover, hung out. At the 700 Metres, STABLE MAIL got its head on the side, shifted in and was steadied away from the heels of MASTER GIGOLO. Approaching the 400 Metres, STABLE MAIL, which was held up and unable to improve, was steadied away from the heels of THE KING. Throughout the race, CAPE PRINCE travelled wide and without cover and in the Straight gave ground. The performances of CAPE PRINCE and MONEY STRONG, which tailed out, were considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, CAPE PRINCE and MONEY STRONG will have to perform competitively in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. D Whyte (AMPLE GAINS), which performed poorly, said his mount came under pressure at the 500 Metres, was then unbalanced in its action and failed to finish the race off. The performance of AMPLE GAINS was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, AMPLE GAINS will have to perform competitively in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. AMPLE GAINS and CAPE PRINCE were sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of AMPLE GAINS and CAPE PRINCE after the race did not show any significant findings. SUPER WONGCHOY and FLORAL PEGASUS were sent for sampling.
Additional Veterinary Reports (released on 26 June 2006)
CAPE PRINCE, which performed poorly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said at that time there were no significant findings. CAPE PRINCE was again examined by the Senior Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer J Size this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be mildly lame in the left front leg. As previously advised, CAPE PRINCE will have to perform competitively in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination before being allowed to race again.
