Racing Incident Report

GENKI KING was withdrawn on 30.1.07 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (sore left fore tendon). Before being allowed to race again, GENKI KING will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. ROMANTIC GREEN, which was standing with its head turned to the right, was slow to begin. At the 900 Metres, TRAVEL CONSULTANT was steadied when awkwardly placed inside the heels of INDUSTRIAL MARVEL which itself was steadied when awkwardly placed close to the heels of SPEED FIGHTER which shifted in when barely clear. In the early part of the Straight, MONEY MAN raced tight inside FORTE which at this time hung in, then approaching the 200 Metres MONEY MAN got its head on the side, commenced to hang out and again raced tight inside FORTE. Whilst the Stewards were satisfied the riding of B Prebble (MONEY MAN) over the concluding stages did not affect the horse's finishing position, he nonetheless was told where circumstances permit he should ensure he rides his mounts out at least hands and heels right to the winning post. A Delpech (FORTE) said he had been instructed to ride the horse how it felt comfortable. He said it was well known FORTE when racing around bends hangs out and because of this he felt it was in the best interest of the horse to go forward and endeavour to obtain the lead. He said because of this he rode FORTE along in the early stages, however, MONEY MAN which was racing to his inside held its position and because of this he was not able to clear that horse. He did say after the 800 Metres he did not continue to ride FORTE along and endeavoured to steady the horse without taking a firm hold of it as he felt this would cause the horse to hang. Mr T K Ng, trainer of FORTE, confirmed he had asked A Delpech to ride the horse where it was comfortable. He anticipated with the horse racing over 1200 Metres it would be able to lead. When questioned, D Whyte (HIP HIP HOORAY) said he had been instructed to ride the horse in 3rd or 4th position if possible. He said in the early stages of the race HIP HIP HOORAY failed to show its usual speed and got much further back than intended. He said making the turn at the 700 Metres HIP HIP HOORAY hung out which is unusual for this horse. He said in the Straight HIP HIP HOORAY did not respond to his riding and was disappointing. HIP HIP HOORAY was sent for an official veterinary inspection and sampling. After the race, HIP HIP HOORAY was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said the horse had bled from both nostrils. SPEED FIGHTER was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of SPEED FIGHTER after the race did not show any significant findings. MONEY MAN, INDUSTRIAL MARVEL and SIAMERIC TE SPECSO were sent for sampling.
