Racing Incident Report

LUCKY BO BO was slow into stride. On jumping, ASIAN CITRUS was taken back. Shortly after the start, HAPPEE GIFT and LEADER were momentarily crowded for room inside SHINING DRAGON which got its head on the side and shifted in away from SHY BALDY. MAGIC KING began awkwardly and lost ground. Near the 900 Metres, LUCKY BO BO was steadied away from ASIAN CITRUS which shifted in. After the 700 Metres, SINGLE MALT, which was racing tight outside CHAIN WIN which when racing keenly got its head on the side and was inclined to hang in, was steadied away from the heels of MEGABUCKS (B Doyle) which shifted in when not properly clear. B Doyle was told to exercise more care. After this incident, CHAIN WIN continued to race keenly and got its head up when being steadied away from the heels of MEGABUCKS approaching the turn at the 800 Metres. No action was taken. Making the turn at the 600 Metres, SINGLE MALT shifted in and bumped SHINING DRAGON. As a result, SINGLE MALT became unbalanced, shifted wider on the track and then commenced to give ground. At the 500 Metres, MAGIC KING was steadied when awkwardly placed inside the heels of SINGLE MALT. Prior to straightening, SHINING DRAGON was awkwardly placed close to the heels of CHAIN WIN. For a considerable distance after straightening, ASIAN CITRUS had difficulty obtaining clear running. After the 200 Metres, HAPPEE GIFT got its head on the side and hung out, then approaching the winning post improved into narrow running on the inside of MEGABUCKS which drifted in slightly. At the 100 Metres, MAGIC KING was steadied and shifted out away from the heels of NOBLE DE LAGO which when being ridden out shifted wider on the track. E Saint-Martin (MAGIC KING explained after beginning awkwardly he allowed his mount to travel forward at its own tempo. He said after the 800 Metres when he had been following NOBLE DE LAGO, HAPPEE GIFT which was racing to his outside commenced to come back and shift in. He said he felt it would be in the best interest of MAGIC KING not to ride his mount along to hold HAPPEE GIFT out, but rather allowed that horse to shift in, he then shifted MAGIC KING to the outside of HAPPEE GIFT to ensure the horse would obtain uninterrupted running in the Home Straight. MAGIC KING, SHY BALDY and MEGABUCKS were sent for sampling.
